It's common practice on military exercise to label maneuver territory friendly and unfriendly, and have some bogus story about some hapless country you are defending against the aggression of another arrogant country who is part of the evil empire. It was rather stupid to label entire states that way and let the map get out. I went through more rotations of NTC, JRTC, Team Spirit and ReForGer than I can remember, and although it was obvious who the enemy du jour was, they were always labeled the Elbonian Army, or the Kraznovian Separatists, or something nonsensical, as we didn't want to upset our actual enemies. I used to listen to calls for fire, and in the middle of the night they get pretty creative; ice cream truck in the impact area, children gathering, battery five rounds ICM in effect, or Chinese biker battalion assaulting local strip club, battery ten rounds HE. These days there's no sense of humor. You just can't kill people and have fun doing it anymore.
