What does shooting from the chute mean

when someone shoots your plane you will get two options "jump" or "retry"

if you press retry you spawn back in an airplane at your base

if you press jump you will jump from your plane and be in a parachute. you have a rifle you can use to take down other planes as you float to the ground.

another bonus of jumping from your plane is if you successfully land on the ground you get 50 points. free points? yes i will take those!

after all these years I only just discovered yesterday that when trying to shoot at the pilot in his parachute, I don't always have to aim at the pilot himself and can keep firing away at the plane for a successful kill. All this time I've been trying to hit the actual body (which is sometimes still the best solution once he starts falling) not knowing I could have made a quick kill if I kept my finger on the fire button.

Had often wondered why I was getting shot within a split second of bailing out and the enemy's bullets were whizzing over my head nowhere near me and their plane was flying above, not toward me.

Agreed been using this for a while especially when they are close when I kill them. It makes u lose ammo but sometimes not as much as trying to shoot the body and running the risk of getting shot. You can get an extra kill and bonus points, I wouldn't skip them
