The phone is way too small to see anything, and the pad is too old to display the latest graphics. Should I get an iPhone 6Plus, an iPad mini or something else?

If you want to get a new playing device, AND a new phone as well, just get that super big phone. It doesn't have to be the iPhone, of course. Decide what you think is important in a new phone, and then do your research.

Do you want great battery life? Or perhaps an amazing camera? Maybe you're looking for perfect integration with your Google account? How about just raw processing power and graphics capabilities to play amazing games? Simplicity and ease of use? Something that won't stab you right in the budget? Of course, you'd like a big screen, so look into those "phablets" such as the iPhone 6+ that are such a craze right now.
