Now I return and everybody gets butt hurt if you actually "play" using tactics that would really be used in "time of war".

I have tried playing by the "red" teams standards, but this is BS. If I feel the need to drop or sneak for my (blue team) victory, I will. The notion that we should all fly and fight, head-on, with bombs, or return to base is ludicrous!

If you and your team cannot defend your base from all attacks then you are not doing "your job".
I understand that if my team out numbers "your's" it is "game ruining" but if teams are even, I should be allowed to "fight"!

We all use different devices to play and for some, it isn't so easy to go head to head all the time. If you think that everyone should fight the same way, then why do we have all of the airspace that is provided? Should we just have small corridors to fly in? Ask yourself this question next time you throw a fit about anyone who manages to bomb your base/carrier.

I shall continue to fly the way I always have and the way we used to do it. It's called strategy, and it is what makes this game "fun" and unpredictable.

I'm sure that if the NAZIS had their way we would always fight head to head and heavy, but this game allows us much more freedom than that. So just be glad that we have this wonderful game to play and cut out all of the politics and whining.

Well... now if you don't keep an eye on the back door you're gonna lose hangars. The choice is yours: do you keep doing the same thing or do you adapt?

You might want to have a blue keep guard when a red hasn't been seen for a while. Don't worry, this isn't the end of "honorable" games. It's actually the expansion of the game. Head on will still happen, sometimes it will be at high altitude with someone carrying... good head on fighters going sneak vs sneak. The valley of death can be tanks and chutes with planes covering. Every move is a trade off for position and advantage. If a red is out of sight, that's one less defender. You have options. Skill is as important as always but now so is planning and paying attention. This is a live game, you aren't fighting off waves of AI drones. If someone out smarts you that is a win for them and a loss for you.

I have no problem with tactics as long as it's not spawn killing or it's five on one and there's sneaking and camping if it's even it's all out war but there are the few that think sneaking and camping and spawn killing is great especially when it's one or two guys againg five or six I still say we should make some general pilots rules not for the game but as general courtesy to others you know guidelines just for pilots made by pilots

I for one welcome all tactics, I trully hope to be outnumbered, 1 vs. 4, have droppers, campers, sneaks, and anything else they can throw at me. Then when the dust settles, and the game ends and I'm 150-14 KDR and got the win. I will sit back smile and hit play again. No one wants a boring up the middle fight, No one would come back over and over to fight that fight. Not knowing what or who is the next game is why we play. Am I bombing, capturing, or chasing? That is why you hit PLAY AGAIN. No other reason. it's the excitement of waiting to see who is red and who is blue. That is why we are addicted. I wouldn't have it any other way. Tactics, Smactics. I will fill you all in on my Tactics, KILL ALL THE REDS.

I think this horse is pretty tenderized, but let me get the meat hammer out anyway; why is sneaking OR dropping "tactics" "used in war" while dropping AND sneaking over the enemy base to strafe targets before they can get airborne despised by those same strategists? If it's all on war, so be it, but if that's the case what's un-warriorly about gaining good ground with a tank and smashing every aircarft before it can be a threat to the bombers?

What's warlike about respawning? Or having a magic tank ready to ride every time a plane gets shot down?

Trust me, I'm all about having a more realistic game, limited respawn, archie, period bombers, limited range and realist ballistics, trenches, period performance by aircraft, but this isn't a war simulator, not even close.

Anyone that has been in a game with me knows how I play, I just can't help ask when I see that "warlike tactics" argument.

The game's old timers have evolved the game into a more Napoleonic style of warfare, with the intention of fair play. Of course, the concept of fair play has its downfalls and nuances which seem out of line, but think of the alternative. The slippery slop of 'HOH isn't realistic, and I support all tactics' is FINE, but remember that "all" tactics INCLUDES camping, and spawn killing. Again, remember pearl harbor. Remember Dresden. There isn't any rules to war once War was mechanized.

I'm fine with what ever tactics the enemy wants to use, but the Pack will still play by a code. BUT apart of the code is not being a fool. We recognize that people have variegated opinions on how to play dogfight, and we want everyone to have fun; although, if someone doesn't want to play by the etiquette that has evolved out of the months of discussions on the forum and in the game, then all rules are off -- just like in war.

Someone who wants to drop likewise should accept camping. Take the good with the bad is all I'm saying-- unless you wanna play with some sorts "rules"

Once was GodofGods (he had it coming), the other was lowenhardt (he had it coming too). If I make it to the enemy base, I bomb then turn to leave. Most times I am out of ammo, If not, I will turn if fired apon. I just think my objective is to bomb, so I go reload then fight my way back in.

I hear what you're saying about your attack strategy Hulk: Your "objective is to bomb" . But do you do anything to help other in coming blues? Do you help defend tanks? Other than bombing, how else do you support your team?

Sneaking doesn't bother me it just means we are doing a good job defending so it's time to switch tactics. Since I'm a crappy turn fighter I have mixed feelings on droppers in a bombing mission but to each his/her own. Campers are for the most part cheap kills no skill players.

For years every one has complained about campers,troopers and sneakers. Some think it's bad form to do it at all. Some believe it's only ok when there is an even game. But some believe it's fair game to do it all the time, no matter what the odds are.

The fact of the matter is, some pilots will fly how ever they need to fly to win the game. You can't always make people fly like you. So many different styles that terrorize the sky's that pisses some one off, and arguement start.

I have flown many of these ways, but for me turn fighting was always my specialty. Being on both sides of out numbered games (and not liking being out number) doing what ever I had to do to try and win. Isn't the point is to win the game?

Every one hates the sneakers. Well because the sneak. Straight shooters hate droppers. Because the hardly make it to the target. Being in a game when our goal was to make all the reds leave the game so we could win easily.

strategies have been made to counter all three of these. Two bombers, one dropper and a sneaker to win the game. Switching up on who does what is also very good idea.

So why force any one to fly a certain way is beyond me. I am guilty of that myself. All you can do is just to adapt to the game play set forth by your opponents, and do your best. Win, lose or draw, just have fun and don't worry about making some one fly how you want them to.

Defend tanks? Yes. Help my team? Well, I usually go about 2 weeks before I lose a game. So whoever is on my team gets the win, I think that helps. At some point in the game, all my teammates are behind me, I kill all the reds, make it in to bomb and my team is right behind me to finish the game. Works for me.

I agree with Pedrinho written version of what is truly going on in dogfight. I feel he wrote this base on experience and that is what I've gone through as well for the past few years. In World War I, air battles are fought with planes and bullets but in dogfight we battle with words. Isn't that the truth. We get killed by words more than we can shot down.

I really don't get this dropping thing, I was told by the best players of this game that the best fighting speed is about 90knots , if dropping only increases speed why do it.....unless to catch somebody who is high or has dropped. To me dropping is not a problem , to me sneaking is not a problem ...tank spawnkilling I detest!!! But if somebody gets into a position to do it then I have failed. I play this game to have fun so I play my way , if this upsets some people that's there problem not mine. Oh yeah I ain't that keen on campers either.

Like.I said I don't mind the tactics and I like being alone against five but some feel then need to drop sneak camp and spawn kill on one guy at that point it's not a tactic it's piss poor sportsmanship especially when two do it to one guy I don't care if I die or if I lose a game it's just a game I just hit start and try againg I don't give a rat's azz if a noob does it they mostly don't know any better it's when a guy that has some skills does it that burns my biscuits especially a moraf that I know can fight his way over with a bomb .Just because they get shot a few times they have to resort to crap take like a man not every game can go your way you win some others you get a beating when I get beat up by good players I still feel good because I know I tried and can hold my head up and say that was a tuff one and move on

I agree 100% with u on that Jacob! & Now that u mention it, that's' darn out weird ?!?! & I'm not joking either! It's making me mad as I type ?!? Haven't felt lke this since my 1rst relationship fail !?!?
Here they (invisible) are trying to make the game style of play 1 way & that's head on's, oh really ????

I were under the impression that it were optional, u know, U could head-on or either turn-fight to engage.. that's if u don't get shot down ? I'm going to say this & not going to repeat: Game play ruining is a technical support issue.. not an emotional code of ethic issue. If it were base on code of ethics & values then we would have a billion rules due to the many cultures , up bringing, politics, religions, & beliefs.

So to prevent this from being an issue, game play ruining is thus as described:

a.) Intentional Team killing, not the object of any game played in realistic simulation. Who does that ? & where they do that @ ?

b.)Spawn killing - killing a pilot/player were the game surface them (spawn).. & where they resurface (re spawn). Doesn't allow player proper protection in time enough to engage in battle to war.
Exceptions: Coming in to bomb, or a team mate (friend) coming in to bomb.. & not halfway down the map sum where ? Usually in view of blue & reds visual or on map seemingly close.

c.) Taking advantage of glitches in-order to win the game while Invisible, or visible.

d.) Bad mouthing other players intended to make them feel bad, on-line trolling; definition is actually the harasser, not the 1 being harassed. Sumtimes can be accompanied by excessive cursing.
Just because ur game got ruined, doesn't always mean rules were broken.. u could of been just out classed @ the time. It's called "Tactics".

So with this being said.. Let us play. & nobody's perfect, but we try.

Who is "everybody?

With the many posts I've seen, or better said - the readers of this thread have all seen - I'm left wondering who is doing all of the complaining. If "everybody" is a general term for lower rank pilots, then steering them to the forum might help. If "everybody" with hurt butts is, in fact, everyone other than those on this thread, then there isn't much to do about it. We are, then, the small minority complaining about everyone else.

However, if "everybody" is one bloke having a bad day, then it hardly warrants killing this horse over and over and over again - as has been illustrate above. Moreover, one could argue that "everybody" really refers to those of us constantly complaining about the few. Those hurt butts might be ours and few others. Get my drift?

In other words, those few who complain about losing in-game probably get over it far faster as we tend to carry on and on. Simply put, we should be kinder and gentler to horses.

Then again, what fun is a forum without a furry animal to verbally assault.

In war there wouldn't be spawnkills because there would be ground forces to help stop them (at least tanks that sit on runways). AA would "help to keep to keep planes from circling, but wouldn't get them all. The return to base spawn if you are in enemy territory take the place of some of that. As far as planes go it only the relentless spawn killing that seems over the top.

If I drop or sneak it is because I feel out skilled by the opposition when it comes to head on fights. When I do get a bomb to the target my first priority is to get back to base unharmed. The thing that bothers me is the people who seem to think that the only way to play is head on to target then fly straight back to base while being shot at.

Just saw Tim Finn shooting planes from a tank before they took off.....just like in real war. So, everyone carry on and let anarchy reign!
