I have a question for you guys. I have noticed this for a long time, long before Updategate. The German planes seem to regularly out perform the English ones. My topped out, tricked out English plane seems easy meat to the Germans. Meanwhile, my topped out 3rd tier German triplane can hang with anything the Brits can throw. Just curious if anyone else had the same perspective. I'd be curious too if this was intentional because the Germans had superior aircraft?

I've never noticed that.. in fact, prior to this update, my Sopwith Camel F.1 with Wings of Horus paint job seemed to be the best plane I had for dogfighting.. must have been the paint! lol!

I've always felt I did better in a German plane than allied. But never really felt anything different between the 2.

Doesn't matter now...since the update I'm getting shredded by everybody regardless of what I fly.

I don't see any difference between the top two planes. 420 claims that German planes are superior. Once you get below the top planes the Germans have a big advantage. The monowing fokker and the triwing Dr1 both seem far better than the allied counterparts.



As for the updates; the sluggish planes have definitely put a cramp in my flying style. I did manage to find a few moves that still work fairly well. It is much harder to evade. (Contrary to popular belief I don't drop very often in bombing games, usually just to go after in bound sneaks and tanks, though I see lots of reds drop once we get past the head on.) Oh well. Just another challenge to figure out.

I have found them to be equal, with the edge going slightly to the F1 in turnfighting, the edge for head on going to the D8. The biggest difference in my opinion is the person at the stick. Like Comet said though, I'm getting shredded no matter what plane and feel good about any game I can break even. I'm going to have to keep searching for those few tricks McFate mentioned that still work.

I like the new update.
I suspect there are a quite a few geriatrics like myself who are happy the world isn't whizzing by quite so fast. Makes the game less about teenage reaction time and more about 3D manoeuvring. Much more interesting to play.
I am having to start evasive action earlier in headons.
