Normally I will fly off to the side and wait until the dropper respawns so I can address him/her again. Naturally during this time is when inevitably someone carrying bombs will try to pursue me and accuse me of dropping. I mean, duh.

I usually slow my speed down too about where it would be if I had bombs and just be a decoy to shoot at unless I'm close to my base I rearm

K5,

If I've dropped to DF a dropper, or for whatever reason I've found myself in the middle DF'g in a bomb mission, my FIRST responsibility is to COVER any blue bombers who happen by. And I expect the same of others. You can tell the difference between actual coverers from the point mongers. Mongerers.

Covering is a skill, and I still suck badly. But the theory is that a DF presents opportunities when your opponent is distracted by one of your teammates, and you nail him as soon as he straightens for even a split second.

Yes and then there are teammates who can't or won't cover you, ever. Those unskilled pilots will give you up for bait just to get the easy kill. It's a matter of a split second, but they tend to wait for the shot, teammate be damned.

I always apologize if I miss the shot and leave my teammate uncovered.

I'll always confront a dropper, and if we are equally matched then at worst if we are endlessly spinninghe tries to turn on a bomb laden aircraft I'll hose him. They usally leave and I'll carry again. If I get caught without a bomb after chasing a sneak or a dropper I'll fly directly toward the enemy base and engage head on, where there is no advantage, but not turn in pursuit of bombers. The goal is to punch a few reds down and gain advantage for follow on bombers, and most likely get hit and tank close. I won't approach or rake the field without a bomb.

If I see a blue confronting a dropper I'll try and wig wag past and get him to chase so the blue can smoke him, conserve my ammo, then I'll rake the spot he has to cross on the runway until I get there.

I have noticed that although I have a decent KDR for a slugger (almost alwayts carry, prefer bombing games, head on, I don't have that many hangars for 30K kills. I'm in the Lowenhardt/Zebra Up category, under 1,000. I get smoked just short of the target a lot. Have trouble picking targets when there is a sea of red on the runway.

Curious about thoughts on dropping when you get into a dogfight against a better plane? I'm stupid, so I normally hold onto my bomb and get shot down since I can pretty much only do turns or a very slow loop (Except for the one time I dropped while in a turn and managed to bomb my attacker. HAH!).

I love droppers in a bombing mission.. why? Because the first time I see someone do it I write in the mission chat "If YOU drop, then I WILL DROP! Then you and your entire team will pay the price for your dropping."

Then I pray that someone drops because I really SUCK at shooting head to head while carrying a bomb.. I'm probably the worst shooting moraf in the entire game at head to head shooting lol!! And I think I have the honor of the least amount of hangars bombed out of the entire Top 100 because of that lol! :silly:
