3am, and my phone buzzes. I keep it on at night in case of emergencies for family or work. It's a Dogfight pop-up, "Get latest Dogfight! Faster and more stabl..."

Huh? 3am, to tell me to get the latest release of a game? The wife is wondering WTF, who would wake us up for a non-emergency at this hour?

Now it's an hour and a half later, and I can't sleep.

For all you Android users, to kill an app's notifications, it's:
- Settings
- More
- Application manager
- Dogfight
- Un-check the box for Show Notifications

I think I had un-checked it before, but maybe last week's Android update reset the settings. I sure hope it works. I do NOT want to be awakened by notifications for a game.

So a little more investigation. Clicking on the pop-up doesn't even elaborate on what the release is about. "Faster and more stabl..." is all I ever see, and then it brings me to the game, but nothing, no new release, no urgent release. Play Store shows that I'm up to the latest release.

Yep, the game is making friends, especially with the wife. Nice.

Huh manny be thankful it took this long for your wife to get mad about the game. Mines been bitchin since the first day i installed the game she bitched more when i paid for it. And now shes just blown.every gasket she had left since i told her im going to ay two bucks a month. Yep i can feel the love in my house it comes in the form of toasters hair brushes basically anything that isnt nailed down. Yes sir my wife absolutely loves this game.

This is my only love of android 5 lollipop.you can switch off notifications all together or choose priority of which ones you want to be annoyed by.
My missus likes the game cos it lets her watch csi all night uninterrupted

my phone never wakes me up but i was curious about the notification i got also...very vague. i spent some time searching but couldnt find anything new. maybe it was just a reminder to play dogfight. it worked for me.

Woke up at 3 am?!? This will never happen to me cause I'm still usually playing at this time.

Sorry, it was a test but in theory it should have sent it to you around 1pm. It should use each person timezone. Obviously it didn't work that way, hopefully next one will.
I was testing because I want to have the option to notify when a friend joins the game (so you can play together) or squadron events like a request for invitation or acceptance into one.

Aside from that, on android you can specify no sound for notifications when you are on sleep mode. I did it for my mother the other day because she also keeps the phone on for emergencies, you just need to set up a profile and then keep everything on except for notifications. From x hour to x hour, or when you set that profile manually before going to bed.

If you root your phone, it's super easy to permanently disable notifications from any app. I can show you (or anyone else who wants) how to do it. PM me if you want, I don't want to derail a thread too much.
