For the last 18 to 20 months this game and forum has been very nearly my sole means of entertainment and release, as such, I am deeply saddened by what I have read here in the last few minutes. Ya’ll may not see me post or play often between running a restaurant, janitorial service, RV park and manufacturing business, but, between all that and the 200 miles a day to do it I ALWAYS make the time for a quick game and skim through the forum at least 5 times a week. So, while I may not be very ‘visible’ as my screen name suggests I am always lurking in the shadows, shooting reds, reading posts, and sharing in your, my MOM brethren, triumphs and tragedies. It may seem odd since you don’t see me much, due to my shyness with social media and alike (something you would find strange if you knew me in person) but I assure you I am a big part of this squad, community and special little game, and my heart is breaking over this most recent drama.

Few understand as well as I do how tired and stressed out you must be over this game and your many other projects. You have created something very special here that means so much to so many, myself included. I have been a part of this community for almost 2 years and I have had a blast and met so many wonderful people in the process. Before I found this game I paid for a flight simulator on my very first Smartphone and enjoyed it quite a bit, it had pretty damn good graphics {even better now} and a function to design, publish and browse your own scenarios. I remember while browsing scenarios and playing my new obsession thinking to myself “it sure would be nice if there was a ranking system and a way to communicate with other players”. A few weeks later I found Dogfight and due to being out of commission at the time played 12 to 15 hours a day for the first couple of weeks (before returning to work). I couldn’t get enough! When my arms were too tired to play I read the forum, every post from the beginning forward that even remotely caught my eye, when my eyes were too tired to read, I played some more. This game you have given us has been an escape, a hobby, and a passion for me; it is the highlight of my day, most workdays at least. Thank you doesn’t begin to cover my gratitude of all your hard work, passion and dedication for making this game and community a constructive outlet on so many levels for myself and so many others.

I tell this little story to illustrate the effect your hard work and passion has had on me, because so many of the long time players here have been frustrated with you and the game as of late. It seems to me that their frustration (mine included) may have come off as ungratefulness and in the process caused you to become increasingly frustrated and therefore seem angry and indifferent to many of us. I realize that it must be incredibly dishearting to try to balance the needs and wants of all the veteran players with the need to grow and improve your business and expand your platform with so little thanks and appreciation. However, I fear that the dishearting and frustration you must feel as eroded that passion you had that started this little game. Please find that passion you had early on that made this game so great and so simple. Please remember that even though both you the developer and we the players may be frustrated with the lag, the drama, the mods, and so on that at the end of the day we DO appreciate you!!!!!


Wig,

When I first came into this game and figured out the squads and chat and forum and so on I researched but one squad. MOM. I did so because all the MOM players ruthlessly and unceremoniously whooped my ass all over the field. Imagine my surprise when I read ‘page 1’ and realized that this group of “old clowns” was right up my alley (having always believed I was born 50 years to late) I immediately started asking every MOM I saw for an invite, this went on for about 5 weeks with varied response until you (along with firefox) invited me to join. Right away, I enlisted the services of the crafty Mrs. Ghostrider for my regulation application for MOMhood and was not so promptly admitted to the MOMrodome. Shortly after I received my banner and It has been such a joy to fly the banner of MOM ever since.

I tell you this for the same reason I told zup my little story, to remind you of all the passion that has made this squad what it is and to show my appreciation for your hard work and dedication that has brought it to what it has become. I hope that you too can see past the frustration of late and remember the passion that has made us all such a family, MOM and non MOM alike. I hope you know how much I and the rest of MOM value and appreciate your contribution to this game and squad. You will ALWAYS have my loyalty, and my mom banner will always fly weather zup takes it or not, I don’t care how many squads and profiles I have to create. I hope to see you in the skies and on the forum again, weather its rick, wig, or a pseudonym I look forward to flying with you again my friend. Given my extreme allergy to change I fear that MOM will NEVER be the same without you.

Like wig, and zuperman you have my undying loyalty and support in these rough times. Despite my allergy to change I will be on the MOM bandwagon as long as there is one and beyond that. If there is anything I can do from just being a good soldier to a leadership role and anything and everything in between, I AM HERE email or PM any time, let’s not let this die.

In closing it seems to me that weather or not copyrights were infringed or not, weather permission should have been asked or not, lag, no lag, profit, no profit, democrat, republican, MOM, Misfit of faux squad we each need to stop bitching and remember why we are here in the first place, the joy we all experienced when we first stumbled onto this little game. It seems to me that if we can all do that every so often we won’t lose so many friends, so many features, or our developer. If from time to time players, leaders, admins, and developers alike can cut the shit and see past frustration and drama to the joy and passion that keeps us coming back, and then dogfight can be restored to its former glory. I beg everyone to hear my words and take them to heart, or we will have a game that has gone straight to the shithouse, if we have a game at all, then what will we do? Please don’t give up on us, don’t give up on MOM, the forum or dogfight.


With that I will try to make my peace with this most upsetting news and just go shoot some reds, before I do I will post my banners one last time for old time sake

We are here to play a mobile game, but only after all of our homework are already done, after all of our school lessons are learned, after all of our children's diapers are dry and perfumed, after all of our wives are... hum... satisfied, after all of our real life issues are solved, after we play with our kids on the backyard, and more important: after all of our bills are paid.

Remember, folks: IT'S JUST A GAME. So, play it, don't LIVE it. Words from a former-addicted that managed to get cured...

Clearly misinterpreted or just my english is not that good. I didn't mean anyone is noise. I meant that there are lot of drama as to why the other person or why i did or act whatever way. It's all noise. The only reason that provoked a ban because the non-stop non-called for insults.

I hardly ban people. Specially one that has been here for so long unless something very serious happen.

I too am grateful to Zup for making this wonderful game that has given me so many hours of enjoyment. To Wig for being a tough competitor, witty writer and outstanding leader of MOM.
