Nice! I'd like it better though if there was some way to put a stylized L on the Lafayette like we do in the game.. (yes I know it's a British pounds-sterling symbol, but we love the L from the Edwardian Script font just as well! In fact, the entire Lafayette Escadrille name in Edwardian script would ROCK! just look at any Lafayette pilots banner and I made all of them say Lafayette Escadrille in Edwardian script) :)

Check now the links, it should have the Edwardian fonts

Yes the Edwardian font looks great zuperman!
Now though if we can put a symbol like the one below in the place of the swastika that was removed..?

Almost unknown but to the most avid Lafayette Escadrille enthusiasts, "A black swastika on a yellow background was incorporated into the Sioux bonnet and also into some versions of the Seminole bonnet. This swastika, running both clockwise and counter-clockwise, was patterned after a good-luck talisman which Raoul Lufbery had picked up in China."

Since we can't use that perhaps this good-luck talisman will work in its place?

The yin yang image or even better the yin yang incorporated into a sun symbol..

Zeeb,

see if you can find a pic where the swastika is clear; the South American version would have been inverted from the one the Nazis used.

Thanks Longrifle but according to zuperman no swastika can be used for something for sale in the USA. And as I posted up above it faced both directions.. and appeared on a few planes of both sides of WWI, not until WWII did it become a thing of loathing.. prior to the Nazi's it was considered a good luck symbol.

Strange. What about all those WWII first person shooters? I've seen plenty of symbolism there. And where do the skinheads get all their crap, if it can't be imported? Are we protecting a cottage industry?

Besides, all the Escadrille ones I've seen are left facing rather than right.

Unless you get that image on vector format, jesus would need like 2 hours to get it on a t-shirt...

we can give it a try and put the original symbol and see if nobody complains. I just wanted to avoid it because some countries are a pain about it, although legally it is completely fine because it is not a Nazi symbol and clearly documented on WWI drawings.

It would be most problematic in Germany. Nearly any reference to the Nazi's is unlawful. Apparently they want the world to think the whole country was on vacation between 1939 and 1945...

I found multiple free use ones in vector format on the 'net.. shall I just email it to you or ? I went with a simple round one so Jesus can just easily fill the hole left by removing the swastika.

For $17,500 you could have had a pointy tooth original. I think Jesus has been looking at some of the pointy tooth logos; they varied wildly depending on the artist and touch ups, apparently. Vive L'Escadrille.

Z, feel free to use the Jolly Roger in any promo material you wish to create. We do not have a formal logo, although all kinds of stuff with our name on it has been posted over time. We would love to be promoted in any way you can do so.

Thanks

zuperman wrote: Vector format is a format that you can enlarge all you want and it doesn't look quality. It's usually done with .AI (adobe illustrator)
The other option is to have it enlarged to 2400 pixels width/height, you will see what happen to the 3 skulls... it is very very pixelated. Think that the graphic would be about 5 to 10 times bigger of what you see on here when printed on a shirt.

Hey Zup, sent you an email with the attached SVG file. I'm hoping that will work. If not let me know so I can try again.

What's the largest graphic you have for the drawing? The bigger the better, so it doesn't pixelate on big t-shirts

For the missfits is a problem. We really need a better quality graphic, it's almost impossible to have that logo on big size without spending hours hand drawing it all the details of the skulls.
