Just tried dogfight from my Win 7 laptop via browser. Nice start. Keyboard flying will take some getting used to and I can't log in with my Facebook account (only had an email account option) so I had to revive my old coaching account, but it worked (poor old account is still only a Squadron Leader). Looking forward to more development in this area, as it will open the game up to more new players.

Is this release significant because older Windows or computer systems not able to run it before or offered on them? If thats the way to exterminate, it'll take too freaken looonng

Yes, it was public only to Windows 8.1 players. With this even Windows XP can play. All Mac users and also Linux users.

Basically it allows all platforms that i'm aware of. The only missing ones are xbox and playstation.

Hammer, I added joystick support yesterday on the web player. I haven't fully tested it but it worked with my xbox controller although it had some errors still.

Linux is still alive and well (I have 3 Linux versions running in VMs on my laptop for work), many people around the world are using Ubuntu which is a user friendly version of Linux (unlike the old days when I was in university and you had to compile everything yourself just to get your mouse working).

I don't have any current Xbox controllers just some old ones from the fist Xbox, I might try to buy a cheap joystick and see how it goes. I'm heading to the shops later today.
