It is fun to be a noob again, but not so much when Morafs continue to fly their top ones.
Reminds me why I couldn't wait to upgrade.

Get in those starter planes of yours and take a beating like a man. At least from those flying their top planes. It should be fun if many do this and fair play.

It's just a day to remember the good old days when getting kills weren't so easy. Plus think about how good the noobs will feel today. Only thing they will regret tomorrow again.

Artho brother, don't assume that everyone reads every thread. I just happened to take a closer look at this one today out of curiosity.

Now I know what the rookie day thing is about. I am sure on previous 15ths, I have been one of the morafs flying in a top plane.

That being said, I will give it a go in my entry plane if I can remember how to change it. I intend to upgrade it if it isn't already.

Lol...i made the mistake of giving it a go one day last week. Nothing to talk about since i was getting sliced and diced by top guys. I think Viper can attest to this? Right my brother?

Let's hope many do get involved in rookie day. Heck it's just one day. Should be interesting. Plus it will be my first one.

This was one of the best games ive had, because it was a team effort in a tier 1 plane, not the mono, it shows that despite the sometimes laughable lag you can still enjoy a great team game with the first plane..only one bomb but with limited ammo it makes u think more..a truely great idea will be doing this more....

Oh yeah, I saw you out and about in a free aircraft. You had some tough flying there for sure.

I had lots of fun doing the rookie thing today. I believe I was in about 5 different games and it was tough but fun. Challenging indeed!

I have to admit I look forward to rookie day each month, even if the top guys don't participate there are usually enough lower ranks around to have fun with..... although I saw a lot of guys in noob planes today.

Well I forgot for the first 15 minutes, and was happy slaughtering Ganet and Lord B, then I remembered, backed out of the game and came back in the DH2, and from there the odds slipped out of my favor. I had a lot of fun.

At the end of the day, while it's great to have a fast, highly maneuverable plane you should be nice to those just starting up who have trouble learning the ropes, let alone trying to compete against better planes.

It's also clear that a good pilot in a dud plane is still something to fear (although gee the ammo runs out quickly)

Was fun.

Turns out the advantage I gained by upgrading to a better plane is largely placebo after all.

I'm still just as bad at this game!

This may have been the most fun that I had since playing DF. I played the whole day in my starter planes and have to admit did much better than I thought I would. Even noticed that my aim was much better in these stinkers even though I felt like a turtle flying in these planes.

Like Hammer mentioned the ammo goes quick though. That actually added to the fun of it. I found myself having to really conserve the ammo and focus on my shots rather than just spraying my shots all over the place.

Not all did participate but many did and I will be every 15th of the month in the future. Hope to see more players do it too. I brought it up in every game that I was in to get the word out and some jumped on the bandwagon. Help spread the word out there since not everyone knows about it.

I usually mutter complaints that the top tier planes are too fast for my geriatric reactions. The bottom are too far the other way! Cannon fodder!
I ended up feeling most comfortable in a middle tier plane. Interesting experiment.

It sure is discouraging being a noob amongst MORAFs. Maybe we should make it "Be nice to noobs day" as well.

I keep forgetting how careful you need to be with your bullets! Not many fit into those cheap ones!

I will participate in this when I hit the big 31 but I am sure players like Black devil bubi who want to farm points will use the top tier planes I think it will be fun at level 29-31 and be a mad one to reach the big 31 in a noob plane lol but count me in when I reach lvl 29 min for me

It's true that some players are so focused on points that they ruin the game play for lower ranks (I've seen morafs tank span killing rank 1 players!). But most of us a nice enough

Had some really good games today in the Airco and EIII. Managed to mostly break even or slightly better. The hardest thing to overcome is running out of ammo. I'm not in the habit of checking remaining rounds.

Good times! I saw some participation, and others asking what I was doing in "that plane" LOL
