Appears a Dallas (only two hours from me) hospital has isolated and treating a patient possibly for Ebola. If that's the case, it has arrived and Lord knows who's next. I guess its time to study what precautions to take in the event Texas becomes a west Africa.

Not as many worries Cannon. Isolation and treatment are much better here than in West Africa. I have zero real concerns about Ebola gaining any real ground In the US. Dallas is about an hour from me.
Ignorance has a way of enlightening us all.

Could this be the first signs of an ebola pandemic? Last time it was in the USA happened in Reston, Virginia.. brought in by infected monkeys in a lab at a strip mall.. they razed the place down and then built a childrens daycare center on top of it.. you can't make these things up. :S

True to an extent. However from what was written, this person flew into the US with others. Hospitals are limited with the number which can be isolated...true isolation. Though in not overly concerned yet, there is the possibility of this getting to more of the population with time. Even a fraction of the numbers infected in Africa would be enough to start overwhelming hospital staff and resources. Just sayin. I hope it doesn't...theres always that "but"

I just heard on the news that the president has just been briefed on the story.

Whew, I feel much safer now.

That made me laugh...but also to think..briefed?? How?? He had attended only about 40% of his briefings....the rest of 60% I'm sure was on the golf course.

The threat from Ebola has been around for a long time now. The problem is that it mutates into different forms. The biggest worry has always been is that it changes from a bodily contact transfer to one of an airborne type. If this does happen, then look out. It won't be funny no more!!!!

I live in the DFW area. No worries unless you are playing with vomit, feces, or urine from an ebola patient or potentially kissing upto having intercourse with an ebola patient. Texas is a bastion of civilization and is well equipped to handle this.

I shudder to think what might have happened if patient zero was from Arkansas and went undetected through family reunion season...

Could have been bad if it had been down south where our third world is. Fortunately some of our family trees have a couple of branches, even some leaves!
