Look at the forum and its apparent that mods are needed period!! Who would you nominate and why?? Maybe we can get zuperman to consider these names and bring a couple mods back?

No bias picks and with that I'd pick ZEBRA cause as long as I've played this game he has always been fair.And uses good judgement and plays the game enough to be able to enforce any rules needed.So thats one pick on top of my head.

Good thread I would like to be able to help in some way..although I haven't played for as long as others I believe I have seen the best and the worst of some so called pilots and would like to share my experience to help others...

I make a post about bringing mods back big joe digs up a 2 month old post over mods then post over me again and again...hahah now that's funny.The point was to have a new list joe cause the 1 2 months ago didn't work so was hoping a new one would be good but do as you wish I don't need this power struggle with joe I just want to see some mods back.Do your thing there bigjoe.

Jeromy sounds like a democrat. Don't say anything unless you agree. That aside, I like some of the recommendations here and some I abhor to the fullest. Therein friends lies the true problem. I am human as most who use this forum are and the creator of this forum is as well and therefore we are all opinionated. Due to that and Zup's lingering distaste from the previous episode, I don't see the Mods making a comeback in the year 2014. There is a ton to think and consider here and at the end of the day I consider this topic time and again and although I dislike most of the trolls lurking about, I just don't see a format in which any number of Mods return. Now some could say just shut up and deal with whoever becomes a Mod, but the simple reality is that we wouldn't be the ones receiving the nonstop complaints. That man would be Zup. So as many people who I think would suffice in such a position, it is not a fight I am willing to partake in as of yet. Too much trouble, not enough profit.

There really should be a moderator to clean up this forum. Dogfight should be held to a higher standard than this. Its one thing to have forum trolls lurking about, but quite another when these trolls spew filthy inapropriate language and no one deletes it.

I most certainly agree. More mods around here would be helpful to take out the daily trash. Reading some of the latest garbage is proof of it. I personally, am becoming quite disenchanted with the the DF experience as a whole....

My opinion is that a MOD should be someone that (in game) isn't a hypocrite and a whiner. Again not someone who is happy about their blues using different tactics to win a game, but then whines about red doing the same thing, then constantly badgers said red player and says "quit bitching" when THEY have been the whole time. That SHOWS that person would abuse the power. I won't name names, but it is one suggested in this thread.

I hope this does happen and soon. Just left a game where foul language ran off good players--myself included. Someone named STRYXXX had a creative vile and disgusting name for everyone in the game. Not a talent, in my opinion. :sick:

How many kids play this game? I would think all games would have limits on what young people read.

As far as who, saw good names on the many posts and hope it happens.

I see these topics pop up after one decides to infect the forum with filth. Yet I also see so many empower the one's who post this garbage simply by responding and continuous arguments that keep those threads alive.

More self moderation would lead to less infection. Once one responds it opens the door to more useless argument and insult. It never ends, just continues in a vicious circle.

Some mods to patrol? Or don't take what one whom you will never meet in the real world so seriously.

With some of the recent controversy, I'm rather inclined to agree with 420 and Weatherman. Mods are a GREAT idea. Some of the people named, not so much. We're all far too biased. I somewhat agree with Bzerk's post as well.

Not until we leave personal prejudices and preferences behind will mods be a viable idea. I, for one, am willing to do just that. However, I see here plenty of evidence that this isn't the case for most.

Thanks for your vote of confidence Jeromy but I would not want the job. I have little enough time to play as it is. :angry:

I was always amazed by the dedication some of the mods displayed. Lots of work and headache for constant complaints. Sure there are times when it would be great to make a couple of jerks vanish but it would ruin my experience. It's kind of like seeing a reckless driver and saying "where's a cop when you need one?" :P

Having worn the Global Mod hat for a while, I would recommend that no player be appointed as a Global Mod, but rather that Zuperman appoint some of his staff to periodically patrol the game. This way there is absolutely no chance of bias, real or imagined.

I think J and Manny would have the clearest vision of the Global Mod position and truly how much of a pain in the backside it could be at many times. I echo J in saying to leave it in Zup and the echoboom staff's hands. We as a community need to just fly and enjoy. Ignore the idiots and mosey along. Things seem much quieter when we don't give in to keeping the beast on the leash, but continuing to provide it snacks.
