How to secure a server for a squad vs. squad scrimmage.
Until the fabled “Squad Wars” comes to be a reality it can be a challenge to get into a game where all reds are on one squad and all blues are on another. Communication and cooperation is the key.
Some squads use third party communication apps and can easily arrange to meet in a particular server and side. “Come to Vimy, Allied” Suddenly they can fill a game. The trouble then is getting the other side filled with an opposing squad. The NLR often has the problem that once we have all entered a game on the same side, there is rarely a red team worthy of the fight. It would be great to be able to invite opponent squads once we have secured a game.
I play on a kindle fire but I also have a smart phone. I find that I can enter a game on my kindle and post on world chat with my phone. I have been posting messages saying things like “Come to Vimy, German side for a good fight against the NLR” Not many takers. LOL!
With the proper planning it could be fairly easy to arrange a squad vs. squad match. If all the players first meet in world chat, “scouts” could go looking for new btb (or whatever kind of game) and once they find one they can post back in world chat which server and side each squad should try to enter.
The biggest trouble then is other players who come in and refuse to let the squads have the game. If the two squads can coordinate their efforts it could be fairly easy to prevent one of these interlopers from upsetting the game by only defending against them until they leave. I believe that most solo players would leave once asked by seven other players all belonging to two other squads, but those who won’t will probably leave once they realize that they are on their own with no support from other blues and a focused resistance from all of the reds.
Anyway, I would love to make squad vs. squad scrimmages regular events.
(God help you if you aren’t NLR!)
