I was just watching the news and saw an earthquake happened in northern California. Just wanted to do this so that friends out there can check in. Let us know if you are all ok. I think McFate and his family are there, maybe Raptor.

All good here. :)

The epicenter was 95 miles to the South. We slept through it. It was about 20 miles from where I went to high school. I saw pics of damage to some buildings I did electrical work on yeas ago. Ironically one was an old building that had gone through a seismic upgrade remodel. :blink:

Apparently it was a 6.0 quake. The Loma Prieta quake ( the one that interrupted the world series and broke the bay bridge) was a 6.9. Each full point on the Richter scale is 10 times the intensity. So a 7.0 would be 10 times more intense than a 6.0. Fortunately the vast majority of buildings in the area are less than 100 years old and have been seismicly engineerd to withstand a 7.0.
