DF Tutorial Series. Lesson 4: Improving device response speed

1. This is a multistep process. Do not attempt to complete this task unless you are confident of 10 minutes uninterrupted time.
2. Read all instructions before attempting to adjust your device.
3. Start DF on your device.
4. From opening screen, choose "Settings"
5. From settings screen, choose "About"
6. Read the top line, check you have the latest version. (Currently 2254, but this will change.)
7. If you are unsure go to Dogfightplay.com/versionupdate to check and if necessary update.
8. Scroll down to sound track entry and check that it reads Soundroll Music. This is IMPORTANT, even if you choose to play with sound disabled.
9. There are still some devices using the old sound track by Sonic Effects Ltd. If yours is one of these, contact the game support using the email address on the second to bottom line.
10. Choose "Back" option
11. Choose "Settings" option again.
12. Choose "Graphics" option.
13. Check all boxes are ticked. (This is temporary, you will come back and choose your preferences later)
14. Move the "Name Tag Size" slider completely to the left.
15 Choose "Save" option.
16. Choose "Sound" option.
17. Check all boxes are ticked ( Also temporary, see instruction
18. Choose "Save" option.
19. Choose "Language" option.
20. Of the languages you understand, pick the one that uses the least number of characters. This will not make a big difference, but every little helps.
21. Choose "Save" option.
22. Choose "Back" option.
23. Go into game mode (practise will do), take off, and let it fly for at least 30sec to be sure your settings have been reset on all game servers.
24. Exit game, now do steps 11 to 17 again, this time choosing the settings you prefer. (On most devices "sound off" will save on processor time)
25. From main menu, choose "Controls".
26. Select your mode of input.
27. Select the simpler screen choice.
28. This step will vary depending on the device. Alter your directional input to the maximum up left position you wish to use.
29. Choose "Save".
30. Repeat step 23. (Yes, it will crash, that's ok, just be sure to wait about 30 sec before exiting)
31. Repeat steps 25 to 30 again, this time choosing the max down/right positions you want.
32. Finally repeat steps 25 to 30 again, this time choosing your "centre" position.
33. For players using Android based phones, Iphones, Windows 8.1 PCs tablets and hybrids, instructions 3 to 32 do not apply. Complete only instructions 1,2, 33 and 34
34. Prepare and consume a large cup of caffeine based beverage before joining game server nearest your physical location..

35. For all players under surveillance from the government or alliens from another world don't forget to change your passwords everyday. I also recommend blankets covering all windows.
