The Falcons, Enigma, NLR, and some of those were also early squads. MOM probably has the most level 31 guys, but almost all squads are made up of both old and new players. If you are really curious about the big squads, I highly reccomend reading their first pages. One mod we had for the longest (and still may, although I haven't seen him for a while) did have a bad habit of screwing up and erasing threads. I think all, or at least most of it, was recovered though.

I can only speak for the Misfits, they have been around for just over a year. The founders came from other squads, MOM, Falcons, Enigma. They were small for a while, I joined about 10 months ago, and have watched the squad grow quickly. Being in a squad has changed the game for me, I've met many friends in this squad. I've also met others from being on this forum. It's been a great adventure.

When I first started almost 2 years ago, the Falcons, MOM, and Enigma were the ones who you always saw. NLR was rare, but very very deadly. Many of the hierarchy of squads like the Misfits started elsewhere and decided to start their own.

Edit: I almost forgot the Black Eagles. They were very prominent when I started.

Creating a lasting squad is a tremendous amount of work. It will involve finding a lot of the right people who feel as strongly as you about it to succeed. Some of these guys, like Grey Ghost, should be campaign managers for politicians or something, as they are so darn good at bringing lots of people together for one cause. Others have done the same by being tremendous propagandists. Either way, there are a lot of very talented people behind these big squads.

Hey taffy good game earlier....game ended to quick to tell you then!!

Taffy, Jakle is right about it taking a lot of hard work. It really does. I've been a Misft since the 2nd week, we weren't even stickied. I've seen this squad grow and evolve since the being. There are so many different fasets that it would be difficult to cover them all. I'll give you my opinion of what have seen that seems to matter.

1- Rule
What ever you chose them to be make them doable and clear. They should reflect what you expect from your squad mates in a game.

2- PR
Public relations is important, being friendly and helpful along with helping with some advice goes along way down the road for players that are thinking they may want to join. Even when its not them, just the fact that they witnessed a kind action by a player with a tag of your squad can be the reason they come over.

3- patients
Never be pushy or over eager to recruit, folk need time to think thing threw and see more of the squad and how the play and interact. Give them that time, when you see them next just say hi.

4-Requirment
These will be of your chosing and will make the persona and make up of your squad as it grows. Chose player you respect and like over any Stat. You want to enjoy your squad and your squad to enjoy the squad, so find players that are like minded. Hers the curve to what I just said. Chose people from every different noock crany and anywhere and everywhere you can find! It makes it a lot more fun.

5- Honor
Carry yourself as a leader, the kind that is liked and respected, the kind that they know will take the bullet so they don't have to kinda leader. Back your mates up, even if it means you don't agree with what ever it is, if they find there ass in the ringer back em up! Leave no doubt that your there for them. Have some humility, I for one can say that it may be difficult at the time but if you have muffed up do what you must to make it good with the world.


That's what see as some important works to become a long lasting squad, there of course is much more but you'll figure it out and what's best for your guys and gals.

It a great thing being in a great squad, the friendships are real and that makes a bond I don't think you find a n most games. I don't know how MOM got so damn big other then there Cake!......

And the fact that there all great guys from The Wigmister all the way thru. Some of my best friends Call MOM home..... But there friends so I don't judge em.

Be careful believing anything I say about squads though, as I am the last person here who will ever join (another) one. Although I'm not squad material, I'll be the first to acknowledge the talent of those at the top of the squads here.

I found this game in iTunes one day when I still had the iphone 3gs and down loaded the free version. I was hooked from day 1 and purchased the game. I played for some time having my butt handed to me, still happens. There were no separate servers, trial by fire.

I was approached by Grey Ghost and joined the Misfits on day one, 5th member and have been a Misfit from that first day. At the time, NLR, Falcons, MOM, Enigma and Black Eagles were dominant in the game.

Misfits were founded by Grey Ghost, bh Foust Alex Ninja, Ronnie Biggs and Richy Roo (honorable mention to me). All from different squads but with an idea to create a new one. It was tough the first week, several people left and returned to the squads they left.

We received a not so warm welcome as a new squad, at times carried a target on our backs. Ironically to this day I still don't quite understand why. Yet we grew, and stuck together and made many mistakes along the way.

Many hours spent working and learning how to become a squad, many, so many mistakes along the way. Drama, comes with the territory, some times brought upon our selves and other times brought to us. Lessons within the game learned as well as taught.

One piece of advice, there are many twisted minds that will try to drag you into pointless arguments to get a rise from you. I know as I have allowed myself in the past to be drawn into the things that mean nothing.

If you can hold onto the first moment you experienced with this game, that moment of discovery and awe, you can go far.

Choose your battles and avoid the bs when you can, have fun, it's a game.
