You should EARN respect here, not take it. Learn the system before trying to change it. I'm technically a Noob here. But guess what? People like me, and respect me, I believe. You know why? I put my head down, played my heart out, apologized when people told me I was out of line, and wasn't afraid to change my mind. And i don't feel like any less of a man because of it.

If anything, learning humility and deference is GOOD for someone.

Its not my decision to tell him what he has gained, he hast to lean to under stand things on his own and not be spoon feed like a child, he has a brain, he should use it.

My common sense got the best of me I guess, and what I mean by that is, he was in no to do what he did, no right at all. he could have been courteous and not cared. Unfortunately Mac, I believe Becken and Yellow have interpreted your well-intentioned feedback (which it really was guys, but you have to reach back in the posts a bit) as Telling Someone What To Do. I didn't think it was that at all. But once accused, you defended yourself too harshly, and THEN Becken had something real to jump on you for.

Mac, when Yellow spat it back in your face, that was the time to say Ok Well I Tried and leave while shaking your head in silence. Maybe you reverted to that teeny bit of Mr. Yellow still in you somewhere. Ah well, all learning opportunities. But you did well for a while there.

Becken, you are right, but IMO only when Mac spat *back*. I hope you can reach back and find the posts that were pretty good guidance, the ones that I would have written but Mac beat me to it. Those were well intentioned.

Ok let's get this straight , a knob is a slang term for a "penis" , but calling you a penis does not have quite the right ring to it. In my language it is a very common term that everybody understands , again I apologise if your grasp of my language does not go that far.
Right now let's get to the nitty gritty of all this, I called you knob because of what you said to Mac. To tell some body that you barely know that you hate them and to say it in public is despicable. Can understand the offence and hurt that you have caused this young man! I know Mac is well able to defend himself but reading what you said made my blood boil and I regrettably spoke out in haste. I could say a lot more about your comments but feel it is time to draw a line under this affair and get on with playing the game without acrimony .

You each stood up for someone. It happened to be for two different people, who were standing on two different sides, who had both crossed the line. Who was the first to cross the line depends much on the definition of where the line is. Becken thinks the Responder crossed first. Avenger thinks the Spammer crossed first, and that Becken was a cad for talking down the Responder. So I think we could all agree that we disagree.

What I don't get is why one person's defense of someone is valid, while the other's defense of someone is seen as invalid and selfish. That seems so wrong.

We all (including the spammer) probably could get along well and have a nice laugh over a drink or a nice game of cards, face to face. In a text forum however, we all (me included) tend to give a lot less benefit of the doubt. Just human nature, that we need to resist.
