The more I play this game, the more I'm impressed, it is some piece of work.
Does anyone know how its being bankrolled?

I mean:
Presumably the Dogfight staff are doing it for love, not pay, but there will be other costs. eg. It doesn't seem likely Microsoft provide the servers for free.
Most players seem to be earning their points rather than buying them.
Maybe there is enough payers to cover costs....??

I hope its not all coming out of a Zuperpocket.

The answer is really quite simple. Im surprised u didnt think of it. Zuperman is the admin for this game right? His name is Zuperman right? U dont call someone Zuperman unless they r truly a Zuper man. In order to be a Zuper man u must be Zuper right? If ur Zuper, u have Zuper powers right? Well now theres ur answer. If Zuper man is truly the Zuper who possesses Zuper powers and is truly the Zuper man he claims to be, then he can just "powzy!" the money into existence. When u can do that y bother charging people for their money? Anyhooo. Maybe im wrong, but that kinda seems like the obvious answer to me.

It is still not a very profitable game. Microsoft DOES gives us free servers until the end of the year, so it saved us tons of money. The money we are able to get we are using on developing all the improvements and on marketing campaigns so that we can get more players who are willing to purchase points.

When Microsoft stops giving us the servers for free, we will have to see if the game is sustainable or we have to begin trimming services and servers.

We are also working in other apps to cover costs and continuing to develop the Dogfight's little brother: Mini Dogfight

Most money these days seems to be generated by sponsorship/advertising, maybe that's the way to keep this game without entry fee.

Although it doesn't seem historically accurate to plaster the planes with corporate brands, like racing cars! Perhaps subtle product placement, like they do in movies, would work?

I immediately thought of a big curved Mac M over the runway to fly through, and be a bombing hazard, but that's not very subtle!!!!

Guys, here's chance to help Zuperman!!! Can anyone think of ways of putting products/brands into the game which we wouldn't consciously notice?

How about in the hangars? Speed upgrade provided courtesy of Ferrari! Ammunition upgrade courtesy of Federal.. Maneuverability upgrade courtesy of Ohlins, etc.. maybe even have a mechanic standing there wearing Snap On Tools coveralls... lol!

People spend money on things they want and need. Use these principals to increase the players extange. For instance.....

to drive peoples wants-a plame awarded to those who are morafs both allied and german (people will strive to get to moraf faster by spending money)

Needs-"we need money to survive" I dont think a $1.99 entrance fee plus advertising is such a bad idea (exeption of people who were here before) reviews will help this so look into all those bad reviews!

A game worth buying- this game is great and all but it has its flows (please refer to all the complains e.i. lag messages, u fair advantage with d8 (mono wing over allied that dont have a mono wing (please fix)) and the game will be more enjoyable making the game worth spending the $1.99

Advertising-a fb app where u can find amd play with ppl over fb like candycrush, Farmville, clash of clans etc...isnt a bad idea either...
Also like mentioned above, a harley Davison logo on a gifted moraf plane is something that might work

im not the sharpest knife in the bunch and I dont claim to be, some of my ideas might not be possible or they might idk. Its just something to look into and think about ig.....

I guess I could find this out with a little research, but I'm feeling lazy tonight. Didn't Mercedes and BMW produce engines for WWI planes? Also, who produced for the allies? Rolls Royce? Who else? Plenty of advertising potential there, I would think.

I buy stuff in-game whenever I can afford to. Mayne one day I will be able to buy enogh points for the D7, D8, triplehound, and camel. Until then I will remain in my trusty Dr1 and Se5.

$5 or $10 to earn Double XP (Experience Points) for 24 Hours would be something I could see ALOT of people spending money on. Also a special cash only plane or upgrade might work too. $1 per name change. Cash required to start a new squad. I have supported DF by purchasing coin and these are just some things I could see myself or others purchasing in the future to continue to support this great game. And because its not said enough Thank You for everything you do to keep DF alive!

NO NAME CHANGE CHARGE... everything else are good options, but personally i would not go with an entrance fee
