Who are the pilots that deserve a mention for honor, valor, skill and leadership? I think that there has been a lot about blacklists and dishonor but not enough about recognising the great pilots who make the game worth coming back to time and time again.
Do you see people regularly switching to support an underdog? What about pilots who champion fair play in the traditional WW1 sense? Or the squadron leader or other member who has high ideals and works tirelessly to progress them on the forum? Then there is the pilot who sticks it out to the bitter end (especially of lower rank) rather than give up the cause? Or someone who offers their knowledge to others freely?
We can emulate some of the real world heroes such as
these guys
. This one is Edward MANNOCK DSO**, MC*, RAF and part of the citation reads
"This highly distinguished officer, during the whole of his career in the Royal Air Force, was an outstanding example of fearless courage, remarkable skill, devotion to duty and self-sacrifice, which has never been surpassed."
One of the nice things is that there are many more worthy of mentions in dispatches than in the blacklist and most will have too much humility to advertise their efforts. It is our responsibility to highlight who they are
BTW I tried to find a similar thread without success. I hope this isn't a repeat thread but if so the other one isn't very active!
