Who are the pilots that deserve a mention for honor, valor, skill and leadership? I think that there has been a lot about blacklists and dishonor but not enough about recognising the great pilots who make the game worth coming back to time and time again.

Do you see people regularly switching to support an underdog? What about pilots who champion fair play in the traditional WW1 sense? Or the squadron leader or other member who has high ideals and works tirelessly to progress them on the forum? Then there is the pilot who sticks it out to the bitter end (especially of lower rank) rather than give up the cause? Or someone who offers their knowledge to others freely?

We can emulate some of the real world heroes such as these guys . This one is Edward MANNOCK DSO**, MC*, RAF and part of the citation reads "This highly distinguished officer, during the whole of his career in the Royal Air Force, was an outstanding example of fearless courage, remarkable skill, devotion to duty and self-sacrifice, which has never been surpassed."

One of the nice things is that there are many more worthy of mentions in dispatches than in the blacklist and most will have too much humility to advertise their efforts. It is our responsibility to highlight who they are :)

BTW I tried to find a similar thread without success. I hope this isn't a repeat thread but if so the other one isn't very active!

I don't want this to be too controversial but I nominate Snidely Whiplash, he was one of the first people I met ingame, he was skilled, funny and not afraid to switch to join me if my team was outnumbered. He also has tried tirelessly to add more fun in the game with his 'tournaments' which I for one would like to see another plus his contribution many with his banner making skills.

I also think greyghost also needs some recognition, the flying circus thread was and still is a good laugh and he has also managed to not get banned even with the amount of trolls aiming at the Misfits.

Finally, Ronnie Biggs has to be credited for inexplicable loyalty, to whoever he believes warrants it. Be it myself in my battles or now, even though he had his fears regarding certain groups within his previous squad, he has posted overnight on their thread commending them for 'holding the line', all this whilst serving his country and now the world. All round good guy.

Hi

I would like to nominate ZebraUp,

just to thanks him for his contribution to this game.

In a short laps of time, he got the skill, he is fairplay, he made friends, became MORAF, built a beautiful squadron, he never sleeps, help new players on chat, posts historical info ... ... ... ... :pinch: (to be continued)

You mean the Official Goldlist thread? Yes, people seem to focus more on the negatives than the positives. Human nature, I guess.

Get a clean sheet of white paper, put a tiny red dot, a small smudge or whathaveyou on it, and a lot of people will notice that small spot rather than the general cleanliness of that paper...

Ah, I didn't think of goldlist as a search term. I am happy to defer to that one and put these quotes in there instead. What's the consensus?

Either way, we could all do with giving some free love at this tricky time. Hug a pilot week :kiss: :lol: ?

Lol! Why not? I mean, pilots in general, regardless of affiliation or nationality, have a great deal of respect for their fellow aviators.

As a certain Israeli fighter ace said regarding one of his first victories: "True, he was my enemy. But take away our nationalities, nevermind that we are enemies. As a pilot, as a colleague, I wish he could have survived."

@Woopsy
Now that you've mentioned it, yup, we need all the good vibes we can gather and share after what transpired in this forum recently. :)
