Hi there!

In the next 24 hours this will be fully ready. You will be able to hit the 'forum' button on the game and log into the forum.

So what's the fuzz about? The issue and why we are giving a head start to everyone in the forum is so that people don't get their forum account stolen.

To give you an example, imagine my account Zuperman was registered in the game, but in the forum my name was [DF] Zuperman (notice the [DF] in front of it).

If someone went into the game and changed their name to [DF] Zuperman, how would the system know he is stealing your account or he is the real owner of [DF] Zuperman? It cannot know for sure automatically.


So to avoid this:

Step ONE:
Make sure your accounts use the same name in the game and in the forum. [DF] Zuperman is not the same than Zuperman! (one has a [DF] in front of it! for those that like to add squadron tags to their names)

The easiest way is to use the same name on both.

Also the second easiest way is to link both accounts to your facebook. If the forum account is using facebook and your game account is using facebook, I can know for sure you are the same person. In the game, to link it to facebook all you have to do is hit the facebook icon. If you don't have a facebook account, well, forget about this step. You probably are not in the forum either since facebook was a mandatory requirement since last year.

Step TWO:
Load the game. Hit that "Forum" button on the game. It will load the forum.
If you did step 1 correctly, the forum will be loaded up with you already logged in!

Did it log you in automatically? BINGO! Done. You are all set.

Did it not log you in automatically? Double check step 1, something was done wrong.

Step THREE:

If you were successful in Step 2, meaning you got logged in automatically in the forum from inside the game. You can now change your names to whatever you want. The accounts are already linked, so internally it knows who you are. It doesn't matter if you change your in-game name now to anything you want to. It will continue working! You can change your name to [squadron tag]name or whatever again.

Huh? A mandatory requirement? Mandatory for what? I don't have a facebook account (at least not linked in any way to the game, cuz I actually have a dumb FB account just to be used only to access some facebook informative pages, rarely used, and that account has no activity at all, since it is not used to social things).

So, whats the deal with this mandatory thing????

It means that if someone logs into the game as "Whosethisguy" (without the [M] ) they will take control of your forum account.

Facebook became mandatory to create a forum account since last year when we got flooded with spam bots attack. You created an account before that requirement, so you didn't use facebook. In your case all you have to do is link the account using your same pilot name.

Yes it will
But it can be avoided. Go into your game, change the name to WhoseThisGuy (the same you use in the forum) and then proceed with step 2.
If you login into the forum from the game without a problem, you are set. You can go back and change it to [M] WhoseThisGuy after that.

Hey Zuperman, i have tried to change my name back, but alass i come to find out that some level 4 stold my name. GreyGhost. So i have to keep the M infront of my name. Hope thats not a problem!
