Hi guys I just wanted to start this this cause im curious to hear yalls stories about how did u find this game and why do u play it?
Whats so fascinating about this game where shooting little red dots at hours on end is so fun and never gets old?

Well for me I found this game by accident. Noone recommended it for me, nor did I ever see it advertised. I believe imwas searching for a Civil War game, anything that was first person shooter or better. And I think this was on a sujested list. I like this game for many of these reasons....1. Its a shooter/wae game 2. Its online mulitplayer, so difficulties are never the same. 3. Its a place to meet new ppl and chat n stuff. 4. The game is always updating and changing, its never gonna stay the same. By the time u get bored with one update, BAM! Here comes a new. And it just keeps getting better n better.

So thats how I came across this game and why I stayed and play it. Id love to hear yalls so let us know :)

I found this game a year ago, looking for another game. I tried it out and was bored at first, and yet i kept coming back and playing. Aomething was so strangely satisfying about hitting that dot twice in a row...
Well, this was back when there was the free trial version, so i made several accounts and averaged making it to about level 7 every week. I didnt know about forum, about Davy.... Hell, i didn't know anything about dropping or sneaking!
Well, i stopped playing for several months, in which my life took a spin for the worst. And it just kept getting harder a.d harder. I've mentioned my "problems" vaguely in passing so some of you, but my life was a real shtstorm for a while. Finally, for Christmas, my parents got me a Google Play gift card. I had three extra bucks on it, so wtf not? I got Dogfight, and used my facebook to sign into my first ever old, stagnant account. I died a lot the first few weeks. I got to 550 more deaths than kills. Almost quit. But i was hooked.
One time, i played wig. First time ever. I was like "how the hell? I wanna do that!"
And i slowly got better, and better. And my life got better and better. I joined Bombshell Babes about the i joined the local gym. I Joined Gunners Inc. about the same time I was cleared from my Trauma. and now especially over the last month, I've leveled up once a week, like clockwork. this is my therapy, my distraction when the OCD attacks, forcing me to rip my room apart. I'm not on the deadly list, but tonight I leveled up to 20, got to 2500 kills, and tomorrow I'll reach 400 wins. This is why I play, because this is who I am.
You're getting predictable, guys. You can do better, right?

My neighbour (father of DD von Spiller) is a retired British engineer and he's only into classic simulation style car racing and simulation flying. I borrowed his tablet to see if it would be good to buy for the kids. Well I saw this game and I tried a bit of practice and I didn't really look at anymore of it just thought ok lame.

So I bought my own tab and figured at least have something to do so why not fly through some rings, then I noticed that it had multiplayer and the rest is history. I've been in Enigma, Animated Evil, Misfits, and now the Devils Dragons and no matter how much I may get mad or curse at this game it's still the best game I have played simply because the people are better. Seems like even the new wave of windows players have found the value in a respectable community...well some of them... I can't wait for squad wars!

I had my new PC for about a month, And was searching Flying Games. I found this, waited for it to download, and went straight to multiplayer. I played a little, then came back to chat. I remember Red Baroness was on   I played it a little, And everyone told me, Your gonna have to buy it! I told them it was free, But they didn't believe me. I started to get bored, But I wanted to prove I was right to those guys   Then I hit the big server, And I was hooked. :)

My reason is almost the same as Reckless. I was finding a free flight simulator in the windows store, but i was unlucky since all of those apps needed to be purchase. Everything changed when I downloaded this game :woohoo: . I quickly liked the game especially after I made my account in multiplayer. Truly Amazing game! NO DOUBT :)

I love playing dogfight for a few reasons. First i like to kill, I really really like to kill and killing reds on dogfight is legal and I don't get in trouble. (Well not lately at least)

By being able to kill legally this is saving the state a fortune in legal costs, in fact my public defender is extremly happy i discovered dogfight.

Not only is my public defender happy but my parole officer is delighted also as she can always monitor dogfight to see where I'm at. This game has saved the state of Tennessee a fortune.

My PHYCHS and social workers are saying that dogfight has had a very positive escape for me. They say as long as I take my MEDS and killing airplanes than hopefully I can become a productive member of society.

I have always been passionate about warplanes games. 20 years ago I had a Commodore Amiga 500 with a game called WINGS (with all the aces of WWI), which was very similar to dogfight, obviously was not on line but I was still remained in the heart ...
About a year ago we (my wife and I) got a tab for my daughter and I tried browsing playstore a flight simulator aircraft of World War I and my choice fell on RISE OF GLORY but I had not particularly impressed . After some time and a second search directed me out DOGFIGHT .....
I immediately loved it and I started playing with some continuity, and at some point I realized that while I was playing the others tried to talk to me!!! PANIC!!!! I did not know how to respond and maybe I can start seemed to be a rude, but really it was because I did not know English ... (even now after a year, I still have many problems). So slowly, with the help of google translator and also someone who understood Italian I began to interact with other players. And it was a great thing ... " I'm talking with people all over the world!!!" I told myself. And the thing that struck me most was the FAIR PLAY that I found here, is of course, every so often there is some black sheep, but it is thanks to the forum moderators, older players, and especially Zuperman this game is so that we know it today ..
And I'm sick, yeah, I got sick of Dogfight. Dogfight has become my daily drug ... if I do not take my dose I go into withdrawal ... And the game until two hours past midnight! And then I read this forum (always using google translator) as if it were an daily newspaper .. and if you do not read it then I get anxious ...
So I say a enormous THANK YOU to all those who are part of this UNIVERSE DOGFIGHT (although now I'm an addict ... LOL).

PS. I hope that what I wrote is understandable ...

I believe that a variant of this subject deserves attention:

Why so much people DONT PLAY DOGFIGHT? I have asked myself about it since I got myself engaged with the game, what took place in 2012. So, I reached some conclusions that I would like to share with you about the why so much people find so much dificulties in going through the game:

1 - Lack of visibility on Google Play site (I can't tell about other SOs, though).
The game not only doesn't show when you pick the "games" tab of the Google Play Store site, but it doesn't even show when you look for flying games!!! It's a shame, cuz I already tested and played several other games (including "Sky Gamblers - Rise of Glory", a good game by the way - actualy more polished than Dogfight, but nothing compared to Dogfight's incredible fun factor and nice and active comunity), and Rise of Glory is on "top list", and to find and download Dogfight you need to do some lucky research!!!! Although, it looks like in the last months this issue got diminished, since we can notice a big raise in the number of players under Windows, for example...

2 - Tough learning curve.
When one finally manages to find the game, unfortunately he/she faces its hard (I mean VERY HARD) learning curve. At least for my poor skills, I remember crashing and being killed A LOT in the beginning, and it INFURIATED me to hell. I installed the game several times, to uninstal it just after getting angry by not being able to kill those dumb planes and incredibly accurate tanks). And it happened with all friends and fellows to whom I presented the game. But none of them had the perseverance I had. Believe me, I spent three or four months between the first contact with the game (what took place by chance), and the first time I managed to play online and get a first smile on my face. Its a hard game, and I am not talking about "easy to play, hard to master", cuz it is HARD TO PLAY, hard to learn. Hard to get a smile on your face before perseverating for at least one month. This game has a very specific target audience, in other words - what helps making it dificult to sell, and prevented Zup from geting rich - at least, for what I know...

Always loved aviation, and at one time was heavily into PC flight sims, about 5 at once. Just went searching apps one day and stumbled onto DF....man, I had no idea what I was in for. Didnt have a clue the size and awesomeness of this community!

I all most didn't join the game, and become the Red Baroness...
My sister (Violet Baroness) loves WW1 history, so I looked for something fun for her that involved it, and I found DF. My sis joined as Red Baroness, after we both worked on the name. She played a bit, but then I started looking at it, and then I tried it out, and I was hooked! My sis wasn't as interested in playing it, so she let me! I'm so happy I joined, I've had sooo much fun with you all! :)

@Storm, I remember the first time I met you on world chat, :) and I recruited you to BB before you were even a good pilot!

After a similar start in 2011, I quit for who knows how long and this game just collected dust. This year something intrigued me to return and start fresh. There my cycle started over, getting shot, crashing, and going double deaths than kill ratio. Since then, through minor mishaps and friendships made, various allies, squadrons, and old professionals guided me through the rough patches which have taught me numerous things. Through the help of Mr.Becken and such, they have formed me into a rock solid pilot, ready to take on any foe and have improved me incredibly to an almost 2x kdr. I still am sort of new compared to the rest of you but I am very happy with my progress.

Well my story started when I was probably about 7.
My dad was getting his private pilots license, so he bought a Microsoft flights simulator. And one day he showed us kids how to use it.
Talk about fights! We all fought for a chance to play!
Well our family moved and a few years later tryed to find the disc to play it. But I never could find it. Ever since I had a yearning to play air simulators. Then I saw all those discovery channel shows about dogfights,
They would explain all the maneuvers and show how all these aces got their top kills.
I couldn't get enough of them! I was totally fascinated. Then I went and bought a Kindle,
I was looking through the app store and started looking through the simulator games.
I found dogfight. and played a few practice missions. I still remember when I took of for the first time  And when I picked my name
(Cuz I never changed it)
This was March 2013. I started mutiplayer and I just loved the atmosphere of all these fellow players from all over the world doing the same pass time.
And the forum has become a new social platform for me, I even stopped using Facebook cuz the forum gives much more enjoyment.
When I played on my phone I found I could play much better, so when I got my new phone my first consideration was.....
I want a phone to play dogfight on!
The first thing I do when turn my phone on is....
DOGFIGHT!

PS
love u all. U make dogfight what it is! :cheer:

I am into flight simulator games, so I found this. After playing up to practice mission 3, I accidentally clicked "Multiplayer". So I created my account, became butcher213, and joined the noob servers as an aspirant. I was lucky, as I played an AMAZING first game, won, and leveled up. From then on, I was hooked. I played through the noob servers in a couple days, became a wing commander, and thought there was an update that caused everybody BUT me to get new ranks and better planes. Then I joined US Secret Navy Forces (I think now 3rd Aero Squadron) as a squadron, jumped to 103rd Aero, took one look at my squadron's backlist thread history, quit, and joined LEGENDS. And here I am now.

I've always played flight simulator games and was looking for one on my kindle. I stumbled upon this one and decided to give it a try. While trying it, memories of Air Warrior came back...that plus a somewhat competitive and addictive personality got me hooked.
