Hi Y'all!
My newest pet peeve is players that use what is to all intents & purposes 'invisible' names. These players are virtually unseen by the average pilot & make virtually unhindered bombing runs as well as shooting down droves of newer or unsuspecting pilots. I don't have any problem seeing these guys, but I know there are many pilots that do.
I personally make a mental note of them when either I spawn into a mission or they do, and then I hunt them down to the exclusion of everyone and everything else.

Here are just a few examples of players I have ran across recently:

(this guy when asked about his name said [and I quote] "its my name" & then "my name is comma") lol!

These players think they are being smart by making their name and therefore themselves virtually invisible.. but to me all they are doing is painting a BIG Red Target on themselves.

Now just imagine if .wig or Blue MaX or some others of the great players in this game were to do the same thing as these guys??

Their names aren't technically illegal or banning offenses.. but I hope that in this newest upcoming update there is a provision to make a minimum number of alpha-numeric characters in a pilots name mandatory!

The funniest ones though are those that utilize an 'invisible' name yet are members of a squadron!

Might I make a suggestion that whenever you see someone with a name like the ones above that you ask them to change their name and/or perhaps show them a little 'extra attention' with your machine guns while letting them know why?

I would like to make a proposal, in any game with one of these players, we all stop the game. Then we all focus our attention on this one F#%{ tard. Make him quit, then go along with our game. I HATE weak minded noobs or seasoned players that must use this to gain an advantage.

They are my number one target in a mission..im constantly looking for them...even if morads are red. They usually leave.

Yep, I've seen a couple of these the last few days, ug.........they just become the focus of my attention. BOOM!

I saw a moraf the other day his name was ``` ``` could hardly see him until he was amost right on you. Rank top 24 not sure who it was but he was a pain to see but i ajusted and started to zero in on him.took some focus but i started shooting him down.

I like to give them some smack talk, just to get in their heads. What's surprising is the number of high ranked doing this.

Worse than this, is see a MORAF doing this... He is actually #24 in global rank... Players like this make my aim get more accurate (and my angry grows >).

That is very annoying to hear that this is going on again. Oh well they should stand out in the red name tag blob clusters lol. Should be a bit easier on the eyes.

That's a rather nice trade off...

The smarter ones offset the punctuation with spaces so it's even harder to hit them.

I played with that MORAF tonight... Not only is he impossible to hit, but he drops too, not even trying to escort... He zips around, killing indiscriminately... He almost ruined our game, and we were all relieved when he left. It went on to be a great game, one of the best I've ever had

I take great pride in shooting no-names. I will totally ignore everyone else in red if one is present. If they kill me, I will just go over and over with them till I figure them out. They are like trophies to me. It's odd, because that is basically the only opponent in this game that I react that way towards and am that passionate about killing.

So, I don't blame anyone else who despises them. I'm not interested in banning them or anything, but they are a friggin blast to hunt.

just went against one. i can't reproduce his name as i'm not sure how to make those symbols, but his squad was the jolly rogers. i gave him special attention. wasn't too hard to shoot though, fine by me!

Lol I did played with Star guy and Comma guys, I asked their name and they replied as comma and star LOL... It would be better if the game starts validating the name.

The Jolly Roger (the original, here on the forum) is not a squad. If someone who isn't associated with the bar (listed on page 1) tries to connect themselves in game with the thread, and then acts poorly, feel free to vaporize them...

I think they are funny, really only making themselves more of a target...one thing you can't hide ..the trail of their bullets......here is a recepie take..........1 no name. ,,...,.
Approx 50 bullets
1 or 2 Annoyed pilots
Small Piece of sky

Method.... find piece of sky...seek no name...follow trail of his bullets....bake with 50 of ur bullets..mix to a constituency of red . mush and metal.....take out of sky when done n roasted........

I've been told by some older, wiser players to tone my posts down. And I will, but I feel this is something that really needs to be said.
This is a tactic that is obviously effective, seeing that players are here posting about it. It's been divisive, forcing players to quit games and focus on wiping them out. There is also a good deal of support for it. Used wisely, it can be almost defended. But many say it is cowardly, unethical, and selfish. I'm not talking about invisible names. I'm talking about sneaking. And dropping.
This "issue" is EXACTLY the same. There is zero difference between this and any of the arguments that have torn through this community, ultimately forcing Tuck to uninstall the game. Sure, it's all good and well now, but what happens when the threads come up defending it?
When I first saw this thread, I was delighted. I'd played against some of "invisible men", and had had some measure of success. Or as much as is possible for a level 18 player. In my mind, it wasn't an issue. I thought this was a joke, a brilliant parody of sneakers and droppers. I was laughing so hard my brother had to take my phone to calm me down.
But as the replies came in, I was shocked.
We can't argue about this. This is a situation we will have to each deal with individually. It's been proven that we can't change other people's style of play. I'm sorry ped, Dr. Dave, Davy Crockett, Wig, general Jack, and others. This dogfight isn't the game utopia you guys played in. It's a rapidly growing game. We aren't a community, this is growing into a city. We can't go back to the days of reason. I wish we could, but it's becoming to diverse.
I will, however, continue to fly with utmost honor in the way I believe the game should be played.
I digress.

No Mac, this is NOT like sneaking & dropping.. & it is definitely not 'exactly the same'.. if it is 'like' anything, it is more closely related to using a lag switch or utilizing some means of making your plane bulletproof for an entire mission.. so it is more like 'cheating' because it is a conscious decision to use an advantage more akin to a stealth plane or a Romulan cloaking device than simply a choice in tactics!

I'm sorry but I agree with Mac you can shoot no names so no it's not like laggers it's exactly the same as sneaking you say you can't see no name people well you can't see sneakers until it's almost to late and the way I read zebras post sneaking is the same as useing a lagg switch it a choice a pilot makes to get an advantage over other pilots I don't understand how you can be all for sneaking then get your feathers ruffled about no names just my thoughts take them how you will

Folks, remember these guys ALL have a Rank above their plane if you fire just under it your not going to miss, In fact if you think about it without a name getting in the way it makes it easier to know where to shoot.

True Dr Dave.. but some ranks are quite easy to see and others are so indistinct they're not much more than the 'shimmer' of a cloaked Romulan Warbird lol!

(& no.. I am not a 'Trekkie' but it's the only term I could think of to explain it lol!)

I don't mind... Anyone who knows anything about me and "the bar" knows that we aren't in the squad business. I'd just hate for someone to claim a connection and then give us a bad name. Beyond that, I like their name and hope they do well.
