I plan on joining the air force if I can get rid of my asthma by that time.

Attack squadron 192, naval air station Lemoore calif, we had A-7s, two tours on u.s.s. Kittyhawk.

4 years, 1st Infantry Div.

Retired from the Army with 20 in 2006. Would have like to have stayed as they just handed me Master Sergeant stripes, but after two deployments, the last one of which saw 17 months spanning 2003, 2004 and 2005 with a year of that spent with 1 ID north of Tikrit, a lot of dead brothers and wounded buddies and with no end in sight my wife "persuaded" me to call it quits. I found out that I cared much more about the Army than the Army cared about me, and to this day don't have a "love me wall" or any sign in the house that I was ever under Uncle Sam's thumb. No stickers on the vehicles, no "there I was..." hats or jackets. No VFW membership, and the only rank I want anymore is Marshall of the Royal Air Force.

I understand your thoughts. My experience with the Air Force was somewhat different as I did not have the deployments during war and was in Southeast Asia in a support role when I was enlisted. I do not have an an "ego" wall though I am proud of my accomplishments as an enlisted person and as an officer. Don't have stickers, VFW, or any of that either. Striving for MORAF as well. You are a good pilot and I enjoy flying with you.

I was in the Army.. various units including the 25th Infantry 'Tropic Lightning' & 101st Airborne 'Screaming Eagles'

I'm trying to keep my grades up so i can do army ROTC or navy ROTC. Ever since i went to virginia beach and saw all the ships. I got to fly the flght simulators at fort drum ny and that was way better than df.

I was in the confederacy back in the 60's;)

Retired, USAF, Viet Nam Vet. Over 7yrs in an F-101B VOODOO.
OVER 8 yrs in Spl Duty Assignment, performed in assignments all over the world.
Came out of retirement and Performed in an assignment with military Security Forces for several years during the Desert War period.

My father was a WW II veteran. I'm Proud of our military heritage and deeply grateful to all veterans of both worlds wars. I would do anything for them as well as all veterans of the Korean Conflict, thru the present.

And yes; I would do it all over again if it were possible.

My wish list was like everyone else's; Hawaii, Italy, Germany, in that order, to which Uncle Sam laughs and banished me to the nether world of the American South and Southwest, due to the "needs of the Army". Then later you find all the guys that got those choice assignment will tell you how much time you spend in the field. Still, field in the islands has to be better than field in Sill, Bliss, Hood, Stewart, Polk, Irwin, Bragg, Riley, and my favorite, Dugway Proving Grounds. Did a TDY with 25th ID in 88 for Team Spirit, back when that meant armor and guns. All the guys would flash the hang loose sign from their tracks.
