I just picked up my third Hyundai (still use my old one for commuting, has 348,000km on it and reliable as anything) and have no regrets. I spent over 3 years as a parts and service writer at a Hyundai dealership and can tell you in the last decade that brand has bolted way up in quality.
The Sonata I just picked up has the standard 2.4L GDI and makes just shy of 200hp, and gives me 7L/100km average with city/hwy on the hilly roads we have here. Mrs Reck gets in the 6's, and that's in winter temperatures. It handles well for a family car and gets over 200km/h pretty quick.....I've heard....
Anyway, I've had really good experiences with the brand and am quick to recommend them.
Not a bad looking car for a 4-door, I sure as hell didn't want an "Old Man" whip at 38. The 2.0L turbo version is a rocket.....
Reck...you use all of these metric measurements that us dumb Americans don't know. Perhaps you could covert them to the imperial measurements for those of us too dumb and/or lazy to do the math ourselves...oh what the hell, 348,000 km is about 232,000 miles. 200km/h is about 123mph. Last but not least, if I have figured it correctly, 7L/100km is about 38mpg someone feel free to correct my errors. It is early and I did mental math without a calculator for verification.
