Hey guys this is Tiger,
I'm a young guy gunna get my driver licence soon and since I'm a young and inexperienced fellow I'd like to ask some advice. First should I buy a car, or should I buy a truck?? (Van's aren't an option right now) Should I buy it new or used? What kinda vehicle should I buy? Should I get a fully loaded vehicle or just the basic? Any advice will be appreciated:)

P.S. Money ain't an issue right now.

As an inexperienced driver you should get a USED car and a low car that has the BASIC things in it. the reason i say this is because if you're a beginner you're bound to get into a close call and/or (God Forbid) a Car accident you should just stick with all the basics to a car!

To be honest, about 2 years ago I bought a VW Jetta TDI diesel. 50 MPG on the highway, 42 in the city. The car pays for itself in 6 years. Just from the money you save in fuel. I bought the 6 speed manual. Best car I have ever owned. $23,000 brand new.

hmmm, Hard decisions to be made at this age. I definitely want a newer car (I'm not saying brand new but maybe) and I guess I wouldn't want to spend more than $70,000 since a car devaluates real quick.

Personally I suggest getting a full sized used truck or all-wheel drive SUV of no more than 5 years old.. the reason being is that they are strong enough to handle a crash as well as they are very versatile and able to handle winter weather & road conditions. Being up higher off the ground than a standard car your field of view is much greater as well! Being used you don't suffer the initial devaluation when a new vehicle is driven off the lot for the first time and you can just think of them as your beginners ride. Once you have more experience driving as well as more of an idea what you like to do with your vehicle beyond that of getting from point A to point B then you can make a more informed choice about what to get next.
I use my 4 wheel drive Ford pickup truck for everything from hauling campers & race trailers & boats, as well as helping friends move or sometimes throwing a couple of surfboards in the back and heading to the beach! I LOVE my truck in much the same way as I LOVE my Spad in this game.. a great machine that serves its purpose admirably!

As the fuel doesn't get less expensive I'd suggest you go for a diesel car.
I have only heard good things about the Honda but never tried one. WV, Audi, Saab, Subaru I have tried/owned and liked them all. I now have a Subaru Legacy Diesel. Mpg I can't answer (we doesn't use either gallon or miles)
But if I were to by a brand new car I would look at a Volvo S or V60 hybrid. (or maybe an XC60)
It was tested by fifth gear so it should be on YouTube if you are intrested.

But if money aint a problem then I suggest this new bronco which is coming out soon and the starting price is $29, 000

But if I had 70k I would lean towards a older muscle car such as a 69 Camaro or a 69 Dodge Charger R/T B)
Or a nice 1967 to 72 chevy pickup with 33in mud terrains and a 5 Iinch lift kit with a 2 inch body spacers I would prefer diesel so I could put smoke stacks and role some coal down the highway.... just like this

If you want to be manly get a ford f150
If you want to have a chick magnet get a camaro
If you want to be a soccer mom get a Toyota sienna
If you want to be a creeper get a rusty old ford e150 van with no windows many rust holes with free candy

Great cars for new drivers would be a Pinto, Gremlin or a Vega. Great small cheap cars. Wait a minute...i may be in the wrong century. Sorry. I did love my Pinto though.

I'd take it for $800. That 4.0 is good for 250K or more. Judging by the condition of the paint, that one was barely broken in. I can see that it's spent time in the salt, but it would make a great hunting/fishing rig.

If money isn't a problem and you want good value I'd steer you toward a Hyundai. You know how crappy our roads are in most of Canada and a full 5 year warranty will come in handy. I just picked up my third Hyundai (still use my old one for commuting, has 348,000km on it and reliable as anything) and have no regrets. I spent over 3 years as a parts and service writer at a Hyundai dealership and can tell you in the last decade that brand has bolted way up in quality.
The Sonata I just picked up has the standard 2.4L GDI and makes just shy of 200hp, and gives me 7L/100km average with city/hwy on the hilly roads we have here. Mrs Reck gets in the 6's, and that's in winter temperatures. It handles well for a family car and gets over 200km/h pretty quick.....I've heard....
Anyway, I've had really good experiences with the brand and am quick to recommend them.

Not a bad looking car for a 4-door, I sure as hell didn't want an "Old Man" whip at 38. The 2.0L turbo version is a rocket.....

SANITY IS HIGHLY OVERRATED....
