Dear dogfight community, I hereby submit an application to be a moderator

I am in a unique position whereas I can usually monitor the forum and blacklist most all the time and I usually could MUTE OR BAN someone within minutes of them being posted.

I would never ban for any grey areas or spawn killing. I would only ban fragrant abuses of language and teamkilling.

I would never delete any post and I don't believe in that. If there is a offensive post than you dont have to read it.

I understand that all the moderators have a life and cannot always be on the forum. Well I have a life to however im in a position to still be on the forum whereas most cannot.

I'm doing this because I believe in ZUPERMAN and his great game, I also love all the friends here. I sincerely would like the opportunity to assist the other moderators and help take the load off them. DAVY.


PS, I would also gladly give certain players my phone number where they could text me for an instant alert.

I'm.with Davy and I to would like to submit an application to become a moderator if anything just to help out the overwhelmed mods we have now as I see more and more fowl.language again I've been here long enough to know what is an muteable or bannable offense. And like Davy I am in a position where I'm.almost always here unless the wife tells me I can't fly lol

I agree as well, I vote that DAVY be made a moderator, as I see him being a awesome and just judge.

I wouldn't turn down the offer to become an in game moderator, however I think that those people that WANT to become a moderator shouldn't be chosen as one. I have nothing against you at all Davy in saying this.. actually I think you would be a GREAT mod.. it's just I believe the desire to clear the skies of Dogfight of imbeciles is in itself a bad trait to have in what should be an impartial role.

Let's face it.. a lot of us would love to ban player 'xyz' for doing whatever it was that breaks the rules in a mission.. or mute somebody trolling in World Chat.. but doing this in what is basically a world-wide business entity is a lot of responsibility to have.. and not a power that should be lightly bestowed.

I think Davy would be an excellent moderator Derraxx also. .
I think they have both more then earned it with their dedication to making this game better for all of us.
I think a good percent of us really respect both of them...
and they make me laugh pretty damn hard too to boot!

Yeah make Davy a mod I rather see him.as a mod I don't want that responsibility. So I vote Davy.

I would not take it lightly, I would use PLAIN OLD COMMON SENSE. I also would not ban someone unless the person who complained sent me by email or posted positive proof pictures.

I think that a moderator should want to be one. Your argument doesn't make sense to me.

I would have applied as I believe in fairness for all but alas I simply do not have the time that I would need to have in order to fulfil that kind of role properly. I think that anyone who wishes to apply should bear in mind the hours needed to be put In as well as finding time to play and in the end I think a fair few of us just dont have that kind of freedom. Good luck to anyone wishing to be a mod as im all for the game being a safe and stable environment for us all.

Davey gets my vote! If he has the time to commit, help is always good..

Yes, many who want the job do disqualify themselves because they want to do it for the wrong reasons. IMO, Davy gets it, and he understands that the power of the ban and mute buttons come with substantial responsibility. He just wants fewer rule breakers to get off scot-free. I think Davy would be fair.

Also IMO, the current state of the blacklist thread shows that more mods are needed. The guys can't keep up, and are either mostly just covering the rule breaking they see personally, or cover a little bit of what's reported, or cover some bans/mutes but don't have time to tell anyone about it. I think Davy would be active.

Also IMO, Davy would work with the other mods well. This is really important, as the mod thread is the place to collaborate on borderline judgments and to discuss perma-bans. Clearly this is up to the other mods to chime in on, but I think Davy would get along well. I think Davy understands that the mod forum is a place to find common ground and make decisions quickly, and not preach or complain. Yes you smarta$$es, I am talking about our Davy Crockett. I do know this side of Davy. I think Davy would do well on the mod squad.

Plus, pants are not a requirement for being a mod. That leans heavily in Davy's favor

After careful consideration (yea, really), Davy gets my support. Just a warning though Davy, although I think you are an awesome guy (yea, really again) I will happily argue with you till I'm blue in the face if I strongly disagree with a position you have taken as a mod. I've done it with the other mods, and hopefully they know that it was NOT personal (at least till a couple went and tried to ban me when they had no idea what they were talking about.... That kinda got under my skin (ok... Forgive and forget forgive and forget forgive and forget)). Anyway, I just believe with any position of power comes a duty to be accountable. I totally believe you feel the same way, and that is one reason that you get my vote (whether it means anything or not). Good luck, and I hope this all works out for you.

Thanks guys. What I would really like to be involved in is the quickness of being able to ban and/or mute someone almost within minutes of being posted on blacklist if proof is valid. I'm interested in the fragrant abuses that there is no denying the offense. I am in a position to be able to do that, I believe I could provide a service to the game and the players we all love.

As for the grey areas, well I would probably want to leave that up to the WIG and the other experienced moderators. Many grey areas may be grey to one person but not grey to another and I believe the currant moderators do a good job at that. Perfect, well hard to tell because if they make one group happy than they upset the other side. THATS A TOUGH JOB FOLKS.

Having been on the game every day since I started playing I have seen many of these offenders, I sent a message asking zuperman if I could be a mod, just a heads up davy, he hasn't responded to me yet.

Thanks flush, I haven't heard nothing but I'm hoping. I would sure like to be able to help.

I vote yes for Davy for a few reasons. 1) He said he'd be fair...he didn't vow to take a testicular oath for fairness though. 2) He said he'd act quickly...he's pretty old though, so he might forget things between reading the blacklist thread & taking action. 3) He promised to ban everyone above me in the standings, in return for my vote, so I could be #1!

It looks like a whole lot of people have recommended him, and have stated that there is a need for another mod (especially when it comes to the blacklist). Hopefully Mr Z will agree.
