Hi

The Dogfight and Forum integration will be activated shortly. This mean you can login with your dogfight account into the forum.

Unfortunately, since this was not possible before, I had to decide between allowing the users a little extra work or deleting all the forum posts and begin from zero. Obviously the second option is not an option so you need to make a few changes.

Let me explain a bit and the steps you need to follow.

Until now, you could register on the forum independent of the game. This could create a situation where in the game your name is "[rtx] zuperman" and in the forum you are just "zuperman".
For me, there is no way to know you are the same user automatically, since you will also probably use different passwords and emails in many cases. What will happen then? The system would create a new account, so in the forum you would have both... not the ideal scenario.

How do I know whether the automatic system already works for me?
Simple, logout from the forum and try to login typing your pilot name and in-game password. This part of the system is already active. If all is ok with your account, it will log you into your forum account automatically.

If that didn't work, you have to do the following:
1) Use the same name in dogfight than in the forum. That way there is no confusions when trying to do automatic matching.
2) Use the same email in dogfight than in the forum and in facebook! (this is specially important if you use facebook to login since it will try to match your accounts using your email)

How can we do all this? Just go on the top right section of this page to the tools area. Or directly:
tools.dogfightplay.com/dogfightplay/management/
In there, type in your in-game info and change your pilot name, email or whatever you want. Done. As soon as the full system is implemented you will be able to just log in.

What happens if you forgot your game username/pass?
Well in that case you can do it from the game, on multiplayer area under your name you have an 'edit' button. Click it, it will allow you to change your pilot name even if you don't remember your password. Just change it there to the same one you use in the forum.

I'm planning to do this in the next week.

Looks like I've either forgotten my in-game password or it's not working. I assume the Forum Management interface doesn't allow you to change your in-game password?

Not sure what to do. Now that there is a [M]Reck!ess forum account created, that name is already taken so I can't change my forum account to match my in game account.
So I should change my in game email to match my current forum account if I don't want to start over on the forum....right? But then my in-game name will still have to change because on the forum it's already taken by the automatic forum account.

I didn't, was it not created automatically like you said it would? The only forum account I've created is this one. After reading your post I tried logging in with the [M] and used my in game email and there it was.

Moot point, just changed everything so it all jives. Balance is now restored to the universe.

If I log out from PluribusUnum and log in with Pluribus (my in-game name), would that not create a new Pluribus forum account? And if I used that account, wouldn't I lose all the posts and PMs in my PluribusUnum forum account? I still don't get how you plan that they get united.

It's academic anyway, since I have evidently forgotten my in-game password anyway and can't login using my in-game name.

nope, the account are not created automatically yet. They will be created when I activate the system, that's why I'm asking for people to change their name on the forum/game to be the same one so you don't get duplicated. So if you have two accounts is because two accounts were created manually... which seems to be the case because it has your custom avatar pic.

Do you already have a target date as to when you will activate the system?

How will this affect the ones who change names periodically? For instance i sometimes change my name to Spuds Mackenzie, or Bad Co. In game i mean. Also my login email is an email from a server that no longer does supports email. Dishmail. I still use that as my log in though? Wouldnt have any idea what to do to change that.

Same question as TR. I sometimes fly as [M]Supercell. Will I no longer be able to do so?

changing names will not be a problem once the system is in place. The problem is this first time use, since right now there is no way to know automatically who you are (zuperman vs [abc]zuperman may be different people).

So the first step is to get everyone matched, or at least as many people as possible. Once that's in place, you can change names to whatever because it already knows who you are. Basically... stick to one name on both areas for a week

So do the passwords have to be the same? I'm probably trying to think this is more complicated than it is. My username is the same, but I'm not sure about the passwords. The emails are the same, that's for sure.

only your username/email has to be the same. The password doesn't matter because it will use the one from the game when the system is implemented.

Hey zup, what about those who used Facebook to log in? It's been a while but I think I used Facebook for both my forum and in game account? But I may have used my email for the game... I can't quite remember, but will those two types of log-in's be able to communicate properly?

Doctor ,I log in with facebook to start my account and now I log in with my ingame name and password. It worked fine for me.

Hey Zup. I just talked to McFate and neither one of us can control the soldier once we hit the ground. We are unable to get to the tank with the new update for android. All he does is duck his head and spin around in circles. Thanks

Zuperman, I know this is off topic but some of us were curious about the dual-engine plane we saw on the Facebook page and Google Store. Is it something you were just trying out or will we see it in the future? Very cool

Ok, i did it. I changed my in-game and forum name to the same, and i logged out. Then when i tried to log back in....................it worked perfectly! Hope thats what you meant Zup.

I don't think I ever tried, but is it possible to change your game password in the game without knowing your old one?

Just go to your profile here and click Edit. You can change your name here from there.
