I've been working for some time with a forum integration for Dogfight. The idea is that you can use your Dogfight info to login here. I thought I would be easier that it is, the problem is that it has already many pilots and some of them don't match exactly.

1) If I create an account in the game and I try to create same account on the forum, it may happen that the account already exists. What do I do in that case?
a) It may be the same player, so I would need to verify it somehow.
b) It may not be the same player, which one has preference?

2) The other way around, I create an account in the forum and it happens that the account is already in use in the game. Which one has preference?

3) I change pilot name/ password... should I update forum/game with that too?

4) One user gets banned/muted... should it affect the forum too?

5) How do I merge existing users that are already registered on both?

etc etc...

anyway, just letting you know that i'm thinking of all possible combinations and trying to arrive to solve them. Hopefully I have it integrated soon since i've been on this for quite some time.

Hi Zup! Thank you for your efforts. I think integrating the game and forum accounts would be great; easier to log-in; easier for squad members to keep in touch; and easier to identify blacklisted or undesirable players.

On the topic of banning; game bans should be seperate from forum bans IMO.

With regards to game names, is it possible to place the game name in the forumer's profile (which is different from the forum name)? Should a player change a game name, it automatically reflects on the forumer's profile or member info under his/her avatar.
