Over a year ago, a well-respected pilot put together a collage of screenshots with newspaper-clipping-style borders to tell a fascinating story about tunnels under our traditional dogfight maps. Recently, stories of tunnels, underground glitches, and p51s have resurfaced once more. Do these tunnels truly exist? Is there a secret world that can be unlocked by bombing certain areas? To the little huts near the edge of the map lead to a giant Easter egg area, or is this, truly, just a game where we can shoot each other down for fun? I, personally, have no idea what's true or not. Can you guys help me?

I've heard of these so called tunnels, but I've never been in nor seen them before

I've often thought everyone was kidding about them, don't know for sure, I've never seen them.

The first rule of the Tunnel Club is that there is NO Tunnel Club! The second rule of the Tunnel Club is that you have to find the tunnel's entrance on your own, you can't be shown one (however, if you have found ONE of them then another Tunnel Club pilot can show you the other.. Cricket showed me the other one)
Finally, besides the tunnels there are also 'crevices' in the terrain that lead to empty places with beige walls.. they suck, except for when you first find them you think you found a tunnel entrance so you're all excited lol!

So many of the newer pilots here didn't believe the stories of the town & duckwing statue & the train etc... but when I fell in love with this game I researched all the old threads in the forum.. I learned a lot... yet now the newer pilots are seeing some of these features are back. Makes you go hmmm?

I will certainly look around for them. Good to see a couple Dogfight legends responding to Lil ol' Mac McMuffin's post.

I've seen the tunnel by the bridge, it has been covered by water now. The water level has been raised. I've never seen the other ones.

I saw some large green fella pushing a shopping cart full of melons into a strange opening earlier......hmmm

Do you disbelieve everything until you have seen it with your own eyes?

I managed to get one more pic for posterity before I fell to my death in the placid blue beneath the dogfight underground!

And then I respawned!

Why wouldn't they? There is lots of fun stuff in this game beyond just shooting people. If you haven't tried it yet, bomb the bridge and watch what happens.... There is lots to see and do here.

Oh the tunnels have been rediscovered. Thought that secret would have faded by now, but damn me if it has resurfaced. Davy's secret has been exposed. No one ever believes me, but alas it's true. When you're playing in Festubert, Davy Crocket is actually shooting you from Messiness. Tunnels man, just saying, Tunnels.

lol, I heard the tunnel was in a corner of the map....oops was that the secret? not sure which one...I'm gonna be looking more today...

I think to properly answer this question you need to step back for a second. What, if anything, truly exists? Do you exist? Do I exist? Do we exist because we can acknowledge each other and if this wasn't the case then if one of us fell would we make a sound? What is "is" and how do you define it (one of the greatest unanswered questions of our time)?

There really isn't any "real" answer here, really. The tunnels existed at one point and they didn't exist at other points of time. I have seen entrances and been prevented from entering and I've been in tunnels without knowing how I fell in. I've been on tunnel hunts and never seen one and I've been in a dog fight only to see them. You really have to let the tunnel come to you. I will say that Paul did have a special way of finding them and he didn't share that secret with me. One funny side note is that he got so many private messages on this that he had Zup put a filter on his box so only "approved" people could send him messages. As far as I know, he's the only one that has this feature on his PM.

I did that once Jacklpe... Then I bombed The Jolly Roger to see if anything would happen

Also observed near by was a crack in the time space continuum;
We landed to conduct closer observation;

We approached cautiously on foot...

and we fell into the blue abyss

Two years ago my colegues and i from Jingles & Bells Ltd. visited the Belgian Chocolat Factory Cloches de Pâques, since they are operating in a simular kind of market.
We were shown around the plant by a weird looking rabbit like creature, that introduced himself to us as a food technician Dr. L' œuf.

I got separated from the group and took an elevator that, to my suprise, took me way down under the factory.

There i discovered that it was all a front for a sinister cult that worshipped a furtity god in the shape of a choclat easter bunny.

To my supprise he was dressed as a pilot, going off to war against the infedels to bring back the sunny skies, which had not been seen since superior beings that updated the skies over the promissed land of dogfight.

I wandered through to dark tunnels and managed to get out.
Here's a picture i managed to take to prove my account.

All, I believe I have found one crack/tunnel One of them, I didn't even know it existed or what it even was is a big blue crack that streteches on going in westerly direction. You depart from the Allied Base, make a sharp right, continue on a vector towards the building at the far end of the eastern border, and then head north flying at less then 100 feet altitude. I NOW KNOW WHERE IT IS, and I shall go tunnel hunting.

Question though: If it is blue, then won't you die if you go through it. AND HOW DO YOU GET OUT ONCE YOUR IN? WHERE DOES IT TAKE YOU?
