So guys and gals, I've been reading and re-reading the forum. And I see how some of you new squad leaders are proud of how your squad us growing! Some growing faster then others! But all growing none the less.

I got to say, when the 121st Misfits came to a year and a month ago,( the first squad to come about in over a year) I was stoked to have just 8 pilots with in a week. At the end of the month we had over 15 pilots. Now to be honest, I didnt think we would last but 6 months tops. Now here we are 50+ strong, and still growing. We feel we have earned our respect from other squads and pilots as well! We are considered one of the top squads, right up there with M.O.M, E, AND The 111th Falcons.

So again how excited are you about your squad and how its growing? What is your goal with your squad?

My goal is to kill reds for MOM, kill any and all reds, pulverize reds, murder reds, show no mercy to reds. My goal as a good representative of MOM is to kill kill kill, (oh wait I already said that)

I would say that WIG and GREY has built the top two squads. I have to say that some of the newer squads have accepted some that do not play a honorable game

Well I didn't start the Lafayette escadrille but I love it here, wouldn't leave this squad even if someone offered to buy the 2 best planes (which I don't have) for me and upgrade them fully. Lafayette is my home and I'm happy and grateful that ZebraUp let me join:)

P.S. I would except the offer of the 2 best planes fully upgraded for me if, and only if I could stay in my squad.

I agree Gunners Inc for a squad to grow this fast in the time it has im excitied and we too have earned our respect from others as well and I want to thank each person in our squad cause if it wasent for all of you there would be no gunners inc..our goal is simple keep getting stronger and who knows what can happen after that?But one thing for sure is were gonna fight!

I personally am very excited to see the community still growing strong since I've just arrived in the last couple weeks! Keep it up!

Knmh and myself started Invictus almost a month ago now and we have 50+ members. To be honest I hadn't thought too much about starting a squadron because I was perfectly happy in Bombshell Babes. However, when Knmh suggested starting a new squad together, my mind got ticking...

I don't want to blow my own trumpet but I'm quite happy with some of our idea's and our name. I think a strong name is needed for a strong squadron and a good tag is also a benefit.

When I did start thinking about starting a squad my first idea was to hand pick the players I wanted in it, and to an extend I still would like this. I want my squad to be a respected squad with good, honest and reliable players. I'm sure they all are but I think Invictus had grown a bit too quickly. Maybe that isn't a bad thing because surely having numbers isn't but I don't want it to be one minute wonder.

I hope it continues to grow and for our members to continue to improve. We are here to support each other and to help out our friends and I hope all of my pilots are friendly and respected by other pilots and other squadrons.

I still have a lot of respect for some of the 'more well known' squads and can just hope that Invictus grows to join the ranks of the elite.

I personally am very proud of the pilots in my squadron. Without them the Lafayette Escadrille would just be a name here. We are only 6 weeks old here & yet we are probably the least concerned about numbers than any of the other squadrons in Dogfight because we are holding true to the history of the original Lafayette Escadrille, which only had 38 pilots and 5 French officers (all of which I recently found out did fly) including the squadron commander Captain Georges Thenault, who appropriated the first Spad delivered to the squadron for his own personal use lol! So once we hit 38 pilots like the original Valiant 38 from history we are done recruiting & will then consider if we want to add 5 more pilots to our flight roster to bring the squadron's number of pilots up to 43 max. After that we won't be accepting any other pilots into the squadron unless somebody leaves or is kicked.
As opposed to numbers of pilots we are looking for pilots that are a good 'fit' for our squadron and even great statistics of a pilot doesn't guarantee receiving an invitation.. as I have already denied almost 40 join requests so far, including some with fantastic stats.. we just want a group of players/pilots that get along well and enjoy the game together as well as the history of our squadron. I wanted to bring my childhood fascination with this squadron and those brave volunteer pilots to the skies of Dogfight within moments of first falling in love with this game.. & I am glad I did.

By the way Ghost.. you & other Misfits have done a fantastic job of building a powerhouse squadron in the world of Dogfight.

Ya know, we initially only wanted 25 pilots. But as time passed we went for 30 then 40 max. And in that time every single one of us became very close! We hand picked each and every pilot we have. And we got laughed at for it, but after the evals and they made full members they are all very deadly in the sky and in tanks. like you said Zebra its not about numbers. We were kicking tail with 15 pilots. I am honored to fly with these guys that call them selfs Misfits.

Each squad leader will say with out a doubt that their squad is the very best. Me? I say that the Misfits are one of the best. It wasnt easyto build this squad, and i didnt do it alone. The men who helped me build this squad up to what it is today like BhFoust,Pownage, Alexninja,Bzerkbzerk, Tbuilt and Raptor. They were my trusted friends who helped build this Family of Misfits. Each squad has a story to tell about how they came about. You all should ask them one day and read what they have to say. It is very interesting and make for a good read!

I still think the game needs a squad of villains, who practice legal but frowned upon behaviors, camping like they are Yellowstone, sneaking higher than vultures on a thermal, going wider than the Mississippi, dropping even with numerical advantage, twirling and chopping noobs in lower level planes with a wider tighter turn radius, etc. You know; all the things that the perpetual jerks do now that gets under your skin.

Matched with annoying chat and forum posts (not quite TGOG level, but close). Max once used the "Brotherhood of Unkillable Laggers" moniker in a post, and I think BULL or BULLY or something like that would be a great tag. Perhaps Bandits or something like that.

Being hated would mean you would be natural targets, so only the best pilots could be accepted. Afer all, without villains, its just a big group hug, with machine guns.

I started the 126th Baconators about 1 month ago. I am exited to have 25 pilots with in 1 month. I am proud of my squad. At first I just wanted the name Bacon above my name and then I started to recruit and got 10 in the first week. I was so proud of my self. I hope my squad continues to grow as big as it can.

Brilliant idea Longrifle. I could live without the forum part, but if it had to be to make it complete... As long as they don't troll people's pet threads and such. (Squads, faces, MINE, stories, etc)
