I updated to Windows 8.1 yesterday March 5, 2014 it took 8 hours to completely download and install and in the market it said the game has been updated but I didn't notice anything while I was in game playing. But Win8 is 100% better it has so many more things you can do and the app store reminds me of the Google play store or Android store

why would the data get erased? the game data is stored on the server, not on your computer

I might be speaking out of turn here, but the data as far as your rank, coin, points, etc stays on a server not your computer.

8.1 is a "good" platform. Its not that much different than 8.

I've been in talks with Microsoft about this issue for a while and I let them know I was about to drop support on the platform and point them to this thread... well, when they saw the support that Dogfight players in windows gave here, they were impressed. We are now working together and the most likely scenario is that the game will continue to run on Windows 8.1 as soon as the update is out (probably today!)

Just keep in mind that Windows 8.0 will be dropped, you guys need to upgrade to 8.1. In usage there is almost no difference but internally Windows 8.0 is a nightmare for developers. They fixed it all on 8.1, just to give you an idea... with the new update on Windows 8.1:

- You can do in-app purchases of points without any trouble.
- The game will render water, shadows and all way faster.
- Joysticks and gamepads will work.
- You will be able to enter your info without a keyboard
- No more positions on carriers funky or completely out of sync with all the other players.
- Much love and hugs from players on all other platforms who hate you for having an older version of the game.

it would be devastating to hear DOGFIGHT discontinue on 8.1 ...you've worked too hard on the windows platform version too hard just to stop now Zup! looking forward to good news ( continuing dogfight on 8.1)

This has TOTALLY made my day!! Wow, great news Zup. I have to honestly say I thought it was a lost cause. Never thought microsoft would give us/you a chance.

So...does this mean I'm not going to be so invincible anymore... I really had all the guys believing that once you join MOM squad you get a scope for the guns and special force powers for the plane...
