If the problem is people dropping cuz of the strategic gole....
And others don't like dropping for the strategic gole....
Than You need a common way to achieve the strategic gole.

A good start whould be formation flying.
The worst attack ever is lining up in a row and getting picked off one at a time.
Wait for the others and fly in a tight group .
Have converging fire on one target.
FIRE POWER!
Also the enimy cant pick out a single target cuz all they see is red letters.
Pardon the pun but.....
Call it the Zebra effect! :woohoo:

Okay now dave! I wrote a simple statement based on what I believe to be fair game and you had to open your pie hole to make a rude statement like that. That was Uncalled for....

That's fine Jackson you said what you felt to be fare gameplay and I voiced my opinion of same.... As for pie... Yes I like pie thank you very much... Just have it delivered to the 108th main mess hall we'll all enjoy a slice. On your dime.

There is no crybabies here, this is simply a discussion. Not a nice post.

If you want to drop then start a game like that, don't enter a game in the middle where everyone is having a good time and throw a monkey wrench into that game. Spawn into a new game and drop until you drop dead of a heart attack for all i care, that way people can choose to stay or move on.

If you find it acceptable to spawn into a running game and mess it up than you are just rude and that is THE PROBLEM.

Lacking anything like the necessary patience to slog through all of this re-hashed melodrama for the umpteenth time...

Several unrelated issues are being conflated here.

Bomb dumping is not the same as camping, sneaking, kill mongering, cheating or game ruining. It's dropping your bomb to attain some perceived advantage. No different than electing to fly at 500 ft vs 5 ft or vice versa. Yes, it's rude to enter a mission that's been going for a while and sneak/dive/camp. We have our share of rude players. Welcome to Dogfight. I don't like 'em any more than does anyone complaining here, so I find ways to let 'em know it.

No, it isn't rude in the least to enter that mission and drop your bomb. If I see that someone is racking up a monster kill score I almost always move to another server so as not to interrupt the groove. Other players may or may not do the same.

The players who can't abide opponents who shed their bombs are, often, the players who lack anything but head-on sniping ability, usually the product of either an iPad, a Win8 rig or a blistering fast WiFi connection. There is a finite range of "skill" available when flying straight, aiming at a dot, shooting it or being shot by it beyond which it's your tech vs. my tech. If I see a red I know to be rocking a NASA strength signal or a 60" flat panel and flight stick, I drop. If I see a red I know to be a one trick pony with his laser-sighted iPad, I drop. Chronic laggers in red? Yup...adios, senor bomb.

My connection has never, in all my time playing Dogfight, been anything better than meh. I like to think my stats don't reflect the lousiness of my signal strength, device, display size. Hangar and Won Game stats should be the measure of what works and what doesn't, not the disgruntlement of individuals who have, like bomb dumpers, a playing style preference. I ranked up to Level 31 strapped to that damn dumb bomb like a Siamese twin. I'd dump it half the time if I had a do-over.

My advice is that you drop your bomb when you become aware that a red is dropping his and, y'know, suck it up, Cochise. If you aren't inventive enough to adjust your game to the circumstances at hand, play Tic Tac Toe. It's just like flying straight and sniping long-range...only relatively lag-free.

Now then, let's talk about the noob-driven trend toward forgoing a tank in favor of that f*cking little foot soldier...

I agree with a lot of what the wig says with one particular exception:
-The part about the measure of what works being hangars bombed and games won.
I understand how this would be good if the servers loaded evenly, etc, etc...
The trouble is that players who leave the game when their side gets weak or refuse to defend the zep will have "enhanced" stats under these considerations.

I totally agree with the if-you-can't-take-the-heat-get-out-of-the-kitchen ,tic-tac-toe thing. :P

The only way it can "ruin a game" is if you don't have any way to counter it. Sorry, but this is your deficiency. So what if a game ends before you get 200 kills? No one owes it to you to play your way. People enjoy different aspects of the game.

I hope that when Squad wars comes there will be more than just squad vs. squad. I hope for invite games where guidelines can be predetermined so people can have their gentleman's games where everyone can call time out if someone needs to pee. Until then every player has as much right to play the game however they want.

(Dang, now I need to put in my anti spawnkilling pitch again: code 10-15 second immunity to eliminate the Spawnkilling issue all together)

What are you going to do? There are no rules against dropping. No one is going to be banned for it. How much good does complaining do? What happens when you leave the game ? KAF (for example) seems to believe he scares off all the reds who leave when he comes in. Is he right? Why would he stop when he gets rewarded for it? Whatever the motivation, the result is the same and he gets the kills and the wins. Why not stay and fight these guys?

If you use strategy you can beat a chronic dropper, even several of them, without getting killed too much. It would be far easier if there were in-game team chat, oh well.

There is no actual moral judgement that says it's wrong to drop except in some people's heads. If you make a concerted effort with wingmen, a chaser can be very valuable.

What is the problem with rookies and noobs in slow planes dropping or sneaking so they don't get slaughtered by MORAFs? If you don't like sneakers patrol for them! I always got a kick out of people complaining about "MAGIC TIME!" Do you really expect Paul to have the energy to enjoy keeping up, going head to head with all of the younger players? What ? Is that just his tough luck and he should go somewhere else if he wants to play a game ?

Other than lag issues, everyone is on the same footing. If their "strategy" gives them an "unfair" advantage pull up your big boy pants and counter it. Or go play tic-tac-toe. Tell you what, I'll let you be Xs. ;)

I must apologise as I do most of the bad things mentioned in this thread . I am new to this game and am not good enough yet to fly straight and level to a target without getting blown out of the sky every time. Sometimes I go high ,sometimes I go left or right the long way round to get to the target ...is that sneaking trying to survive long enough to get better. Sometimes I drop early when I feel the need to defend as the extra speed allows my to survive a little longer....This is game with many facets which is what makes it so great , like everything in life we should all play to our strengths ....is that really so bad. I enjoy the way I play the game and maybe if I get better my game playing will change but for now I do what I gotta do. B)
May the ancestors look down upon your achievements and smile.

You have nothing to apologies for you will in time find the ways that works best for you. Don't pay us old coots much mind here because we have had at each other more times than I care to count over this very subject. There's been many many threads dedicated to this subject and never a peaceful solution found but yet here we are yet again butting heads over it. There is some truth to the teaching of old dogs and tricks........
I could care....But I dont
