Hey guys,

this thread hurts for me to write. Paul is one of the best guys I know. He helped me in so many ways. What a guy. The tragic news of his time running down was a shock and heart break. :( its like losing a brother. Ive cried over this twice at least. He is a great pilot but a better friend.

We have Duckwing Mtn and Legends Bridge, can we make or name something for this legendary guy! Maybe something in the village, or another mountain, or a lake or something? He deserves it.

Has he passed yet?
I think we should name the mountain next to duckwing mountain after him, Mantz mountain.

Perhaps bring back the train and name it after him?

I think it would be fitting, if the building at the end of the bridge ( that leads to the tunnel ) was named after him. I consider my lucky to have flown with him, a GREAT man.

I've been thinking about this a bit.

What I thought up was what if we could stick with the duckwing monument, but add a feature that say if you shot at it, a tab would pop up, similar to the one that shows kill/death ratio during game, but instead of your score it would be a "Names of the Fallen" or something like that, then it would be like a real war monument. Also that way you could put everyone's name on it, Duckwing, Legend of Kane, Flymagic, and as much as we all hate to admit it, there will be more to be added. But this would make it easy for everyone to see aswell as easy for Zup to modify when the time comes. I'm not sure how difficult it would be for Zup to do?

Anyways what do you guys think? Love it? Hate it? Adjust it? I'm interested to hear

Also davy, isn't the bridge already named after Kane?

Edit: no disrespect ment by already adding Flymagics name to that list

I like your ideal, makes a lot of sense. Someone send that over to ZUP.

I'm not sure if the bridge has a name or not, I've never heard of one. Does anyone know?

If Zup names it after him, we should ask him to make it indestructible again

Even if I would like some kind of memorial to honoring Paul, it feels very wrong at this moment when no one knows what has happend to him.

About the bridge... just read the text above that I quoted :pinch:

I agree with Bellsaj that we shouldn't be in such a hurry to do anything without knowing more.. doctors have been wrong before & people they gave devastating news to instead would recover and continue on for quite some time.

Paul deserves his own monument. Jonquin should code a flying seagull into the game. Can't be shot down, but hits register as green text "How did this seagull get here? Must've been MAGIC!"
See you in the skies!

I guess with someone who's touched as many people as he has it's normal to want to jump in and do something - anything - to honor him. The more of his stuff I read, the sadder I become that he will be gone, but you guys are right about waiting to see. Maybe something wonderful will happen and he won't be taken away - such things happen every day don't they? I'd like to think so.

And even still I can't help but make my own suggestion. What about a peaceful green sector of the map named "Magic Valley"? And as you fly over there is an occasional twinkle seen from the air, like little diamonds hiding here and there in the grass? Maybe it's silly, but it would be something that can't be shot at or disrespected in any way, and newer players who don't know any better won't have anything to complain about because it's not a moving item that might cause lag - just a peaceful little part of the map that we can land on now and again to pay our respects, and of course, tell others about when they ask what it is.
Sorry I jumped on the bandwagon, I just thought it would be a nice tribute to him if things don't turn around.

It's lovely of you all to contribute to this outpouring of affection and respect. If Paul has seen it I'm sure he's touched.

As I've said directly to Paul, I have no intention of eulogizing a friend who's as alive as I am. I'd encourage you all to channel whatever energy and thoughts you can toward bombarding Newport, Rhode Island with a massive wave of Dogfight positive vibes. As has been pointed out here, doctors are wrong as often as they're right and nothing is ever certain or predictable where health matters are concerned. One thing that is certain is that Paul can't help but know how much he's loved by this community, thank you for making that abundantly clear.

The bridge in the Dogfight map isn't called Legends Bridge or anything else, it has no name. The only map features that have been named are Duckwing Mountain, after Duckwing1, an early player and friend who passed away, and the Jolly Roger tavern in the shadow of the bridge. The town that Joaquin recently restored to midfield was tentatively christened Avion but was deleted before the naming process was signed and sealed. Perhaps at some point when higher priorities have been addressed we can suggest that he add signs for the Jolly Roger and Avion.

The bridge is already named after another legendary MOM hence 'Legends bridge' . The building at the end of the bridge is where Paul always reputedly kept his bribery goods, so we could call that the 'Little Shop of Magic'. Or the mountain next to Mt Duckwing is where he had his secret cave, so how about 'Magic's Mountain'.

Anyway, who's to say the old magicomedian aint gotta a few tricks up his sleeve yet!!!

Avion schmaveon.... Most of us know the town's real name

Thanks for not eulogizing Paul yet... Hopefully he'll be with us for years to come.

As far as naming something in his honor, I'm up for whatever.

Judy here.
He's asleep now.
I know how much he cares for you.
I'll try to let you know how he's doing.
He can't see to read. Was pissed because he couldn't take off. He kept saying campers and sopwith is friend.
You have been helping him stick around.
For that I love you all. You've given me more time with him.

Paul should be given a "magic time" button, he clicks on a player and they get a message.....3,2,1, MAGIC TIME! if flying they turn into a white dove, if tanking they turn into a rabbit! Now that would be cool and im sure paul would use the hell outta that button!
