Two sides of this coin. Both equally correct.
YES, this newer generation pf dogfighters (after split servers especially) are a bit coddly and needy. Some of us learned the game under the Fly or Die scenario. You either learned to get your butt up and off the runway without getting killed, or you constantly saw flames. We started with horrible K/D ratios, and didn't care. This new generation seems to want nice protected K/D ratios from the start.
However, on the other side...
YES, there are situations when camping and spawnkilling lack a strong strategic argument, and therefore can be assigned as rude and pointless, with the only possible point being kill/point mongering. IMO, these are few.
- BTB, plenty of strategy there, spawning and even camping can be argued when covering (a) yourself, and (b) your teammates. Sure, some people camp when there isn't a teammate in sight, and that to me is point mongering. (Personally, I bomb, head back toward base, and only turn around if fired upon, or to join a teammate who is carrying.)
- Dogfight... well, the point IS to get kills. I personally don't camp because I like some challenge, even if I have to invent it. There are some high ranked players who don't care to create challenges, and they tend to camp in Dogfight mission. So what.
- Kill Zepp Airport. Camp away. It's the only way to win on the Defend Zepp team.
- Defend Zepp Airport. Now this is one where camping over the airport is a bit pointless IMO. If you are on the Kill Zepp side and I'm on your team, you will help our side the most by popping the durned blimp, not kill mongering at the south airport. In fact, pop the blimp AND kill some reds why don't ya.
- CTC: Here's another one where camping over an airport is kill mongering IMO. Ok, maybe it can be argued that you are preventing the enemy from getting to carriers. But if my own teammate is doing this, I tell him to get over to a carrier and ACTUALLY MOVE THE NEEDLE. Instead, such a player is mongering all the points while I'm sitting on a carrier watching a needle move but not gaining jack.
Since the complaints are about Werner/Warner doing the last one, I can see everyone's point. But I can also see the point of "learn to fly, learn to avoid bullets."
My two cents.
