These games are fast paced furious engagements! A lot of points are awarded for the attackers. Don't give it away!

Here Here! I had some guy the other day say. "Hey reds. Come switch over here! Faster and more coin!" To which I said "STAY OFF MY ZEP!!!!" I like defending the zep because the attackers are distracted by trying to take it down. This give this feeble shooter just that much more of a chance to kill somebody! I like playing either side! Plus it is limited in how long it will take. Which at times is good...

Or the points/coins for successful defense could be raised and eliminate the problem. I like defend, but not three and four times in a row as they sometimes come up, especially when it usually takes about 5/3 defender advantage to move the median success ratio to 50%.

I love being on the defensive side because the enemy is so occupied with shooting the zep, it makes it all the more easier to shoot 'em down.

Include me in the defensive side. Just got out of one. I'm with you on the easy targets, lol. My K to D ratio really climbs, especially if there are not too many blues and the reds are focused on the blimp.

But, as I was explaining to my coworker(who is now addicted to the game, hehehe), it works best if a couple of zep attackers keep the fighters at bay so the rest can focus on the zep itself.

I appreciate either side of the zep game it has a finite time(unlike the others which can last hours) and you can get good points either side.

Another Zep defender here.. for all the reasons that were already mentioned besides, being on the defensive is one of those rare occasions for me to be able to put up a successful (depending on who are on the attacking side) "3 vs me" game since they're all seemingly fixated on the zep

That aside, I haven't been enjoying the Zep games lately because of the lag... people suddenly teleporting left and right or gaining "invulnerability" when the zep goes past a certain hill/mountain near the attackers' base... anybody else experiencing this?

I'll be the odd man out. I hate zep defense. Sure, you can score some easy kills, but completing the mission is the driver. Defense is so exceptionally hard to win it's to the point of being almost a guaranteed loss. When the zep gets near the northern base, you don't even have the flight time to make it back if you get shot down. I like the idea some have suggested about putting guns on the zep so it wouldn't be a pushover, but I think a simpler answer would be to make a second opposing zep to even out he playing field. If you concentrate on dropping the zep, you leave yours open to attack, thus it would emphasize both attack & defense. It would also make some interesting flying as they passed midfield. I'll fly defense, but it isn't my first choice (actually rates just below ctc as my least appealing games in DF, but spawnfight is really catching up).

Attack&defense with 2 zep it would be awesome. Great idea.

The only time it's not fun, is when it's the type of game McFate mentioned--or a bunch of noobs completely ignoring the zep and going for planes...regardless of the zep's position.
I've seen that a bunch of times.
Lately, it's been this new "Legend" squad. Some WC barking orders for attack runs on planes. When they come after me in packs...they end up back at base...lol.

Oh by the way! You can't land on it! I tried with the DR1 mono plane.... didn't work.....LOL

I've tried many times in many planes since I started playing in late 2012, as soon as I even touch it, I crash. I hear you could land on it in much older versions of the game.

Led Zeppelin is a great cover band. The vocals from Robert Plant, the guitar wizardry of Jimmy Page, and especially the awesome drum performances of the late John Bonham made that band one of the best cover bands of all times.

Yes, certainly. And the lawsuit judgement which claimed that Led Zeppelin was stealing the works of old blues artists was incorrectly applied. They were actually giving tribute to artists such as Robert Johnson, not trying to pass the lyrics of "the lemon song" as their own creation. It may have been the band's management who selfishly decided against voluntarily paying royalties while the band members just wanted to play music and have a good time.

Your outstanding defense of the Zepp is noted, bware.

I've been guilty of such as I was point hungry. But not so much now.

Hmmmm I almost forgot what it was like to rack in points on a zep mission.....no joke. Im usually the one who takes out the engines then speands the rest of the time shooting down reds wile selfish blues eat it all up. And by the time I turn around the zep is already on fire. Its kinda depressing to know that im one of the few who would do this for people who would never do it for me. But it feels good to help out lower ranks. Im not sure what the point is in this post, and im to tired to think about it right now. But its something thats been bothering me and it feels nice to get it off my chest....to whom it may concern:)

Wow [*M]cFate, you have opened my eyes! I had no idea, never heard of any of this before. I am almost kinda sad now. I don't think I can defend Led Zeppelin with a clear conscience anymore. I hereby retract my statement.

I had a defend the zep game last night with (G.I.)Flix313 as blue. Right away he started asking which server we were in. I said " stay and defend" he said something about needing points and I said "coward" "lol". No one would tell him which server we were in. He ended up leaving and coming back as blue a couple of times and we lost a fairly close game.

In the next game (btc)he was blue again and I was the "big dog" on our side. He said something about how you can't win defend games. BAH! I said "that's because so many players quit " then I left.

Defend the Zeppelin games can be won but not when the defenders leave for the sole purpose of switchin and turning their guns on their assigned team so they can rack up points!

BAH!

I'm with you in spirit, but I can't seen the enemy planes anyway, so I'm useless trying to defend. I can't see the Zep's engines either, so I guess that evens things out.

I will take all the bad names and insults you used on the Original Post as a joke. I have a good sense of humor, and I know you are kidding, for you are a good guy.

I just think you are missing two important points:

1) Have you ever considered the fact that THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT SIMPLY LIKE TO PLAY KILL THE ZEP, and don't like defending it? Its a matter of personal taste - my case, by the way!! Zep missions spawn only once between about 10 bomb missions; so, I really like to enter them when I can, just to relax between long, tough, stressing bombing sessions. Enphasis on RELAX! So, I ALWAYS switch, if I entered it from the south base. ALWAYS. I simply DON'T STAY if I need to defend the zep. Period. As I NEVER play DF (free for all), by the way. I simply don't like those missions. Can someone call me a coward just because of this? Fell free to do it; today, for example, I played MANY missions against 5-6 reds, to the end. I always do it, I never quit, even knowing I am going to be spanked, even knowing that my KDR will be ridiculous at the end. I give a s*** for points. So, don't call coward every people that prefer to kill zep. People need to RESPECT other player's preferences. Got it?

2) There are some stupid players around, and if they read what you wrote (about hunting down who prefer killing the zep rather than defending it), they may think you are being serious, they may not notice you are joking, they may not know you are a good guy, they may not know you would never cultivate this kind of silly hate, and they may misjudge some good people as cowards, what is, at minimum, a really BAD THING to see and to have.

We need to stop spreading hate. And YES, IT'S JUST A GAME!

you are right about how we should not spread bad vibes. I would like to clarify that the hunting of "turn coats" should only be for that particular game. I do not want any one to be "targeted" in general.
