some one help me out or set me in the rite direction with the ground tank rules. Is it written in rule where tanks have a certain limited distance that a tank can get to the red air base? I know a tank is not suppose to get on the runway but what about up close to the hangars or in between bldgs without impeding or spawn killing red aircraft.


In a game of destroy enemies air base; When your shot down, and ride the silk down to the ground landing within striking distance of the red air base is it not sound tactic too get in the tank and make tracks directly to the red base to begin taking out hangars. After all that is the goal of the game. Again without impeding aircraft by getting on the runway or spawn killing off to the side.



I would appreciate some help and advice on this thank you.

Red base in Bomb-the-Base? Have at it. Blast hangars. I don't ever blast planes at spawn point though, since they can't evade. And repeatedly blasting planes at spawnpoint or blocking the runway will get you banned for a day, as Zup has declared that game-ruining.

Thank you very much Manfred that's what I was under the belief of. Wasn't sure and thought I'd get the sound advice from a Senior experienced DF Aviator before deciding what to do. Further explain: I was just banned for the second time for what I now believe to be capping hangars in a tank. The first ban a week ago, I really was in question as to why the ban was issued until I got slapped with a ban this evening while doing the same thing wasting red hangars at the side between buildings and the hangars, not runway. I made sure to keep to the side and not even get close to the runway. Both times the ban hit me just after backing in between the two big buildings facing the hangars and firing in to the hangar in front of me.

I make a serious effort to be a fair and honest person in everything I do. I strongly believe in fair play and have no love for cheaters. Even though being the victim of spawn killing numerous times by those that decide to cheat ( if that's the only way they are able to nail me) it doesn't have any affect on the way I play. I've had many a chance with the glitch where you respawn directly behind a red aircraft. i will not gun anyone in the back under those circumstances.

I believe I know what's happening with me and twice being banned. I believe who ever is executing the ban button may be a far from my location at the time they observed me heading for their base and perhaps the angle and/or distance of their view may have appeared to them that I was farther and on the runway. Only thing I can think of. I'm sure of one thing, they did not observe me killing respawn aircraft because that didn't happen.

Well Manfred I apologize for getting long winded on you and do appreciate you help. One last thing if I may, if this happened to you what would be your next move or how would you handle this. I'm not playing another game until I can get this cleared and my name reinstated.

I quit trying to make it to the airport, very Seldom would you ever make it. Of course it's fun if you do.

Now if I'm in a tank i head to a certain point where my shell can reach the airport. Keep in mind that the clouds do not move, I removed that from my graphics in settings. I know exactly which cloud to aim at for any hanger. I also know how high to aim over the hill.

I can now usually get a hanger or two before I'm shot. The tank is now my most valuable weapon.

That's bizarre mach, I can see a player possibly reporting you for spawn killing if they saw your tank that close to the runway and assumed that's what you were doing, but it would take time (and some submission of proof) before anyone would ban you - it wouldn't be instant. Even if a mod was is the game and saw you at the base, I can't see any of our mods banning you without flying in to take a closer look to confirm what you're doing - people will say what they will about the mods, but they don't ban ANYONE without cause.
I'm quite comfortable assuring you that you're the victim of a glitch, and nothing more. Perhaps someone else has seen this before and can shed more light but in the time I've been here this is the first time I've heard of someone being banned like you have. Perhaps you should shoot an email to Echoboom to let Zuperman know about it before it happens to you again, for all you know the next one might be longer, or permanent.

Good rule of thumb is not to approach the airport to shoot hangars in any mission EXCEPT for the bomb the hangars mission.. any other mission and I see a tank near or at an airport I assume they are about to execute a nefarious deed...

However in a bomb the hangars mission getting your tank to the red hangars is like having won a shopping spree at your favorite store!

Plus in any mission except for a bomb the hangars mission you aren't helping out your team to win by shooting the hangars... and there is NO REASON to go towards any airport in a dogfight mission!

& as Reck!less just said there has been recently quite a few instances of people being kicked or banned without any wrongdoing due to a glitch. But I am sure a moderator can tell you if you were banned for a reason or if it was just a game glitch.

Well, first thing's first:
1) if you got the onscreen Banned for 5 Minutes message right when you hit the hangar, that's the game's automatic ban, not a moderator. Are you 100% certain you didn't get disoriented and were at your own base? Really sure? It's happened, and to some very experienced flyers.
2) if it wasn't automatic, go to the blacklist thread and ask if a mod banned you. Give your game name, when, what game, and what you were doing when you were banned. A mod will see your message and post a query on the moderators' group forum.
3) double check #1. What plane were you flying, and which airport were you at on radar, north or south?

Thanks Pork interesting response that has me now thinking bizarre as well. On both games everything was pretty much the same almost identical accept for the names of everyone in the game which I can not recall. To add to this I clearly recall the 5 min ban and disconnect occurring immediately after capping the second hangar. You got me looking at this whole thing and and remembering some aspects that before didn't appear to be anything but now fall under the bizarre category. Example, after getting into the tank on both situations everything became quiet, no one around. As before the ban, same games, after being shot down I had to really move swiftly to get into the tank and begin jinxing because 2 - 3 red's were staffing bullets all around me and wasting me before going a few feet.

As I explained before I thought alittle strange I wasn't hearing aircraft and guns above me or even dirt kicked up by bullets. I easily blew it off as a turn off good luck until the ban. Same for both games.

After the first ban while trying to figure out how or what just happened I ruled out the auto ban figuring the trigger to set it off was when the tank tracks made contact with the runway surface and I was sure I didn't go into the runway or even the runway threshold. I thought perhaps a Mod may have been in the game and thought I may have traveled onto the runway subsequently placing the ban on me. I'm not 100% on that one because I've red allot of posts concerning bans' on other flyers' and always felt they went through great effort to aquire evidence beyond the shadow of any doubt before executing a ban. Like you had mentioned, I believe all mod's do a great job and are fair.

Per your suggestion #2&3, I checked the ban list several times and found nothing relevant to my paranormal occurrences. However I will take your advice and go back and post a request with all the pertinent info in the Official Ban List.

Thanks Zebra for the great advice. I've got that down pretty good and have the same rule of thumb. As I had started in both my initial posts after these ban occurrences was that I was in a bomb the enemy's base both times. I go by another rule of thumb in this game and is when ever I get flamed carrying the bomb on the way to the red base, if I'm not more than half way there I won't tank, instead take another bird. I go by this rule with the over all mission and teammates in mind, as you also stated.

I definitely agree with you on that 'shopping spree feeling' when that situation of making it to the red hangars in a bomb the enemy base, is bestowed on you. The bizarre feeling about all of this as Manfred and Porkfinger had mentioned is how everything pretty much happened the same. With the first ban same type of game, I had gotten flamed a couple of times a short distance past half way when I tried to get into the tank there were aircraft and guns going off hitting the ground all around me. Before I got 10 to 20 ft I was shot and terminated. The second sortie that I got banned strangely different.

Enroute to the red base I wasn't challenged by any reds until I was almost at the target. 2 or 3 enemy planes appeared slightly below and at my 12 o'clock. Just as I shot one down the others nailed me. Upon hitting the ground of course I'm running for the tank. What's strange is while doing this it was quiet and creepy, no aircraft or gun sounds. I guess the thought of that euphoric 'shopping spree' feeling looking more and more within in reach I didn't give anymore thought. Still quiet, expecting to get wasted any minute, I slow up arriving at the hangars, I set my tube elevation, sight the closest hangar and 'BAM'! one down. As the load time is ticking off I rotate the turret, sight on the next and, BAM'! 2 down. At this time I fought to over come the elation and maintain a tacticle mind set, I decided to maneuver the tank a short distance in between those brick buildings in front of the hangars to obtain some cover. I'm expecting to get hit any time and I was set on trying to take out the remaining hangars. All the time it's quiet as heck, and I saw no planes in the circuit, over head or any where. Just when the load time finished, smack. On my screen it said Banned for 5 mins and the connection lost and PhD course went to a light haze.

The only thing I recall different the second time upon getting almost to the target was after reds appeared and attacked me. I had just finished shooting the closest attacker down and observed him in the silk, I got hit. As I was coming down in the cute I'm thinking ahead that I've got to get in my tank before he does expecting a gun fight. I quickly looked around to notice the pilot on the ground just standing threre. The bizarre part, there's no tank. I jump in mine and turn in his direction because we were close. All of a sudden he runs in front of me right to left. My thought was I over looked his tank when in the cute and that he was running to get into it. I ran into him and he flew into the air. I wasted no time and began turning in the direction of the hangars. Never saw a tank. That's t the only thing different thing from the first time.

You know Zebraup, in trying hard not to think on the paranormal it's gotta be just a glitch where everything happened the same and it went glitch. I must say, just alittle bit strange. Thank you for your help and advise. If you may think of something that may be of help please let me know.

I'd like a bit of help if possible, been switching back n forth between nexus 7 and ipad mini, the response on the mini much better but believe spec wise the 7 should be faster like to know if anyone has some way special on the setting on the 7 to get dogfight running faster on it than on the apple or is that just the way it is. If I do a roll on the apple it rolls pretty fast but on the 7 it takes twice as long it seems anyway.
