I hereby wish to start a petition to start banning more IP ADDRESSES.

We report these idiots and all they do is change names and or laugh it off.

I cant even let my wife look at the chat anymore. This is not the place for this.

I've been working with kevy and he is really helping but it is not enough.

I all in but I don't think we gonna to have a cesspool IMO it already is and has been for some time.

I hope that there could be an easier solution such as only having chat available to level 6 and up so you won't get the jerk who just keep spewing because the don't care if they get banned. It would be a bummer for those who have questions but maybe there is another way to handle it.

I really believe that banning IP address for a week or so immediately will help. Nothing less than that will correct this major problem.

Ok, how about giving Davy some right's to at least mute or some form of a time out with an automated message that explains why.

It seems many player just need a bit of an education on what is tolerated. Seem that some players have learned and play along well now.

I say Davy because he is on allot "ALLOT" plus cutting up can be edgy, however cursing and as we saw earlier "soliciting Child nude photos" could create a very bad situation for the game. I think Davy was able to get that name and info the the right person very quickly, however if Davy was able to correct it himself it would appear to be more helpful.

I am one that really enjoys W/Chat so I would not want to see it become to nasty... It is just one more outlet for e to cutup....but I my be getting banned a little bit my self... Lol

As a networked to engineering guys hate to say but banning up addresses won't work for.this on mobile or those using.dchp for their home internet (i myself have a fixed ipaddress since I like to remotely access my home network).

There are other ways around IP bans (I use proxies to get around content bans that make me pay 2_3x as much for software in Australia).

just so they can get more of a feel for the game and get yo know other who have more experience kimda like mentors.
I think half of the problem is they dont know better, so get em wile theyre freash.
I have a few officers helping me train them for better forum. This will help them in game play and how to treat others.

I sorry that banning IP address will not work and I think you are probably correct because I've seen several say they can get around any ban and that they have several accounts. They even make fun of the banning process and laugh it off.

I'm so sorry that society has sunk this low. I believe in comedy, yes even some crude comedy but the filth on chat goes way beyond what is normal.

I think your right on most accounts you boney son of a gun!!! The nood server is an an adulterated Disneyland for the foul mouthed and poor form players. By the time they hit level eight its become part of there game and they seem surprised at there behavior being criticize by the rest of us. It seems so offensive to us, there way of play, yet they feel it to be the norm. Something is a miss you have to admit.

There are those players that cannot be convinced of the standerd that is expected with the OG's (old guys). But I believe that he majority can be convinced to changed there type of poor form play.

I coached down there in the noob server a few times, always felt a bit dirty after words. Still I believe it can be done and must be done, I also believe that boney guy here is just the man for the job. I've lost my patients with the poor forms, and honestly have more of a want to shoot the little yard apes out the sky then teach em anymore.

So Bones, I salute you, and will support you and your effort in any way possible, short of actually going back down there......

I think the best thing that could be done is to simply have more mods & less warnings in World Chat & in-mission chat. Just mute them all for 2 days & if they still don't learn their lesson next time ban them from the game for a period of time. Also, and this is a BIG one, have a brief accepted standards of behavior page when first joining Dogfight that they must click the "I Agree" box to continue the download.. something along the lines of:

1. No cursing will be tolerated in chat. Cursing will be dealt with via an immediate mute, and if it continues a 2 day ban followed by a permanent banning from the game entirely if it happens again.
2. NO talk of a sexual nature will be tolerated! Immediate 2 day ban from the game if this happens followed by a permanent ban if it happens again.
3. Team killing (other than accidentally) & tank spawnkilling will result in a 2 day ban and if it happens often will result in a permanent banning from the game.

This makes me think of when i started playing, there was no swearing or people being inappropriate, (besides the occasional 1 or 2). But when there was swearing they got muted pretty quickly, now a lot of dogfight is just cussing and swearing and ever since the world chat came in it got worse, and i like the world chat, but not the people infecting it, and other players mind, its like is a decease, when one person hears it, they decide, oh this seems cool! Maybe it will make me look tough, idk, but recently i haven't been able to get a game free of swearing, and a lot of times world chat is bad too. So if theres anything you mods can do, i ask you to do it, a mute, a ban, but it is ridiculous and shouldnt be tolerated.

If this game has the ability to kick you off a game and ban you for team killing rather it was an accident or not, also cennor cuss words on world chat then why dont it tie in the same way? After 3 words that are censored that come from the same person, they should automatically be banned for a day and if they come back and do it again the make it 3 days, if they do it again after that just automatically permanently banned. I understand a few words are cencored because they can be used in the wrong context, but 3 cencored words is pretty obvious that your trolling.

Why not disable chat until the person has left the introductory period and paid for the game app? Most of the cussers don't make the pay cut anyway. I know, I am a genius. I have carried this burden my whole life...

I have also found some areas of the form have become as cesspool. Thereby i give a big hearty thanks to the moderators. Gen jack reid kevy 420 and J who are doing the most to diminish the cesspool that the forum had become.

As has been mentioned by others previously, getting at the source is a good first step. The source is (mostly) people who have discovered a free graffiti app where they can experiment with vulgarity, most of whom have not bothered to try the game and certainly know nothing of the game and community.

If world chat access was limited to those who have (a) paid for a paid-version of the game, and (b) attained some level of rank through playing the game, then I think we would see world chat vulgarity reduced to a much more manageable level. Any remaining problems could be dealt with through moderator policing.

Raptor what ever happened to the coach thing? Did it just not work out for the coaches or were the heathens un-coachable? I would not mind trying that again. It may be the closest thing we have to getting the noobs on the right path before they ruin themselves. And I like the idea of only allowing chat by players who have invested something in the game.

Lets not be quick to blame the newbies. I have seen alot of
Vulgarity lately from seasoned veterans (i wont name names etc)

If anything chat standards should be applied equally.
If a newbie misbehaves they get desciplined and rightly so
But if a seasoned player (who has a better understanding of whats proper) does it its considered
Sacred territory and is laughed off. We should not have a
Caste system within df. This is something the moderators
Need to keep in mind.

well, we don't ban ip address. That's kind of silly since if you are on mobile and move from one tower to another (walking a few blocks), the ip will change.

We ban the device itself!

So that's not the issue.

We've been thinking of option, like the proposed one of only allowing to chat once you hit certain rank, but then lot of new people that are actually ok cannot get any help.

In short, after much thought we are working on a chat filter that after 1 bad word, you get muted 5 seconds, second bad word... 5 minutes mute, third bad word, 1 day mute... and it goes up and up. That should clean it up big time. Hopefully it is implemented before the end of this week now that 4.4.44 is finally out for Apple and we added the warning system on it (people need to know they were muted, otherwise they keep writing without knowing they were punished).

Why not make the world chat available only to those who actually bought the game?
I've seen a lot of bad language from players with less than 10 kills, some who haven't even started to play the game.

That might even make more players paying for the game, and bring you a better profit.

Thanks Zuperman for implementing a fix. I would also lie to see it carried to in game chat, and pick up as many "near" spellings as possible. I'm tired of "FU" every time I shoot someone down three or four times in a row to close on a base or carrier.

Not that I'm against swearing; I swear like the soldier I was for 20 years, and would be just as happy with an adult chat where it takes a personal credit card to sign up (ensuring everyone is of age) rather than an Apple ID (Mom's credit card) and I could tell every pilot out there exactly what I think of them too, it's being stuck in the middle that's ridiculous.

i'm actually ok with swearing, but not everyone else that's why there is a limitation. But i'm ok with the occassional FU and i won't ban anyone for it

It just the ones that go over the line, those that get warnings and keep ignoring them. Those get muted.
Anyway, it is already implemented on the chat, but they don't get any message right now, they just don't get their message through and get muted.
