I thought it might be nice to remind everyone of some of the best threads created by the general population. I went back and looked for some I remembered, but ultimately I stepped through the pages to discover others that I had forgotten. My hope is that you’ll revisit these and enjoy them all over again. So, without further ado (or any do hopefully), here are my Top 10 Best Dogfight Threads of All Time*!

* Threads must currently reside in the Gossip section and not be a sticky. Zuperman threads were excluded from the list as were my own because let’s face it…I would dominate the entire list.

One of the most noble efforts undertaken but was probably doomed for failure from the start. High marks for the passion and the willingness to help others.

An early attempt by SkyDavis to give back to the community through periodic news updates. Now it reads like a history book of some of the first pilots in the game.

Nice thread of pictures remembering and honoring a MOM pilot. Very nice example of the community coming together for one day under tragic circumstances. Thanks to Jacob for starting the thread.

The first thread to expose the best kept secret in Dogfighting (to that point). Maybe the only real “Easter Egg” in the game…or maybe just Paul’s warped mind?

A reasonably successful effort by Pedrinho to get everyone to fly for just one day the basic model airplane. A “get back to your roots” sort of day. I was sure happy when the day ended!

There are a number of threads that dealt with Duckwing. Really someone that every new pilot should go back and read up on. Another example of the community coming together under a tragic event.

I remember when this came out and I immediately feared where it might go. It was a credit to the forum to keep it positive and build upon it and keep it relevant for so long. Luna has three entries in my list!

At one point thatcqould not have even been a question for me. One of my fave threads is serene knowlege where we first met slendy and he creeped us all out. Another of my fave was the one for my, sputniks, blains, and lunas sit com. It was really fun and enjoyable till me sput and blain went wild while luna was eating dinner. (please dont look it up). But you have some great choices there some really interesting or helpful threads. I miss the dogfight news of which i was a reporter/correspondamt with my own news all about squads but didnt really work out because no squad leaders gave me stories to write about so it became pretty much a news about kamikazi and our/my struggles. But in my opinion you cant jave a top 10 ghere were tons of great threads from the beginning like "snake dance" where two of the best piolts of the time (*420*(who became a mod) and gyshan (sho left when the game got so big he couldnt fly with his frends any more))gave some of their secrets to avaidingmenemy fire to serene knowlege in the middle which everyone enjoyed (unless you peed your pants like a few did) all the way to now with all the fun threads (there are to many to name). Thats just one opinion from a dogfight vet and pioneer.

Yep. I only play dogfight once or twice a month now. I have found another game that reminds me of the golden days of dogfight. Its much harder to fly but it does not take long to find ways to be one of the top dogs.

I actually considered Serene Knowledge but I have such a hard time getting past that first post.

I also thought about the Sputniks/Blains/Luna/Hamers thread but let's face it...it was created so you guys would stop killing other threads. It was really a glorified timeout for the kids.

In all seriousness, it was interesting to look back at the early threads and see how much the content/themes/topics have changed. It was a different feel back then.

I'm flattered that some of my threads made it into your list. The Dogfight Guide did indeed crash and burn, but I guess I had to have seen that coming. I was offered a lot of help, but only a few were really willing to stay the whole nine yards.

Me posting that sexism thread was a bit impetuous, I'll admit, but I meant what I said.

And for the Faces of Dogfight thread: I had no idea it was going to get so big! I honestly thought it was going to be erased for violating some forum rule that I was too ignorant to comply. But, we've got ourselves one heck of a portrait book!

The forum community has certainly evolved since the birthing of some of those threads; for better or for worse, you decide!
