Dear DOGFIGHT community

You know I love you all, I have a heavy heart over a impending war between a few players with the moderator.

I ask for cooler heads to prevail. I have have threads deleted also and I was pissed but I got over it. I think I saw the post, I'm not sure and it wasn't bad to me. If an effort to be humorous and funny sometimes we offend others, I have offended others with what I thought was perfectly ok and then I started getting PM s.

For instance the farting hippopotamus, I thought it was the funniest thing ever however several did not ( if someone can find it can you repost it on this thread please for an example) i don't know how. I believe it almost got deleted to.

The moderators have a tough job trying to keep everyone happy while trying to do a very difficult job. Sure they make mistakes but look at the greater good that they do. Sometimes they make a morality call that fits their morality but not mine nor others.

The other day i made a judgement call against SPITFIRE over something he said on chat, I was completely wrong and I apologized to the chat and to him during chat and to him during a game. His comment was its for the greater good. I like his response.

Look fellow DOGFIGHTERS, i sincerely like all involved, they are all good friends here, my point is this, THE ONES INVOLVED ARE ALL GOOD PEOPLE, THERE ARE SOME REAL CREEPS IN THIS GAME NOW, WE NEED TO FORCUS OUR ENERGY AGAINST THEM.

NOBODY IS PERFECT, HE WHO IS PERFECT LET HIM THROW THE FIRST STONE.

I LOVE U GUYS, I HOPE YOU ALL PEACEFULLY WORK IT OUT.

"let he who is perfect throw the first stone" ok. *throws a stone at Davy* hehe it slipped seriously though i agree with Davy here and i think that with all the discussion about morality and ages its important to remember a few things. First, is that it takes a village to raise a child. Having been overprotected growing up i can vouch for the danger of not exposing kids to certain things. This is a 13+ forum and game. Anyone not old enough to be here shouldn't be here and if they are i say that shows a lack of parenting by their parents, and if their parents do allow them to play this game, then they know that their kids are going to hear about things they may not be ready for. Look at the aa na thread. Or the former cat house thread. Its all in how we go about it that determines what these kids learn from these types of threads. Knowledge is power, and just bc a kid hears us talking about sex and addiction doesn't mean he's gonna go hook up with a classmate or start drinking and doing drugs tomorrow. The line we all walk is closer to the rated r side of that line than the pg 13 side and that's the way it should stay. Why? Because kids don't learn a damn thing unless you expose them to reality. And if in the course of our joking around we hit on a topic that can have major ramifications for a kid in the real world, them its important to stress the pitfalls of those actions and where certain decisions can lead. In the case of the current tension between the mods and the players that are currently staring each other down, i wonder if this isn't an example of the very kind of over moderation I've heard about that zup doesn't want. It's not the mods job to say this or that isn't ok. It's their job to take action if it's needed only if and when enough people complain about something and have proof that the person in question clearly crossed the line. A donkey handing an elephants butt back to him? What's so wrong about that? Just bc you're a mod and didn't find it funny doesn't give you the right to attack the person who posted it. Anyways, my point here is i too would like to see cooler heads prevail. I don't want to see friendships destroyed over this, or see the loss of any players from this game over a misunderstanding.

I agree with Davy. The mods have to use their best judgment on what is appropriate on this public forum, based a GAME. Not a forum based on an adult-oriented topic or activity, a GAME. Games attract children, MY children as a matter of fact. And when a mod deletes something or uses the power they have, they do it knowing they will have to accept our complaints and flak for it, but its their job here and they take it seriously because they are supposed to.
I'm the last person who will speak to anyone about objectionable posts - I've made them - but until Kevy posted his rant the other day it didn't occur to me that this isn't the place for such things, and he was right. At the same time, I want to have fun here too, and don't want my posts to be censored or deleted without good reason. I also understand why we are not to be name calling here - something else I've been guilty of - there is no need of it. And the argument that kids under 13 shouldn't be here anyway? Granted, they shouldn't be, but they are.

So far, I can honestly say I have not seen anything deleted that shouldn't have been, unless the elephant who had its butt sliced off was deleted, because really, that wasn't offensive in the least lol! I thought it was great! The thimble thing, mmmmmm...maybe, it was after all a middle finger, which means "F*** off". Its possible I missed some deletions that weren't warranted, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I guess what I'm saying here is that the mods have a job to do and there is no reason to give them a hard time for it - they wont let anyone harass us or attack us here, so why would we expect them to let us harass or attack someone else?

When I reach MORAF I'll apply to be a mod myself, and y'all can crap on me when I make the same judgment calls, lock the same kinds of topics when they get out of hand, and try to keep the forum clean and safe the same way. I just have nothing to complain about here, sorry.
