A reflection upon my introduction to this game we all play if you will. Just my memories and thoughts from my first game to the most recent.
I found this game in the iTunes store and downloaded the free version being an aviation enthusiast, looking for something that compared to similar flight simulation games I have played. Within a few hours I was hooked and immediately bought the full version.
I jumped right into multiplayer without going through the practice option. I was immersed into the world of dogfight as an aspirant immediately. No segregated servers as we know it now and introduced to upper echelon players.
I flew the lowest ranked aircraft and had my tail rudder handed to me, flew against Morafs, not knowing what Moraf meant. Flew into the ground as I learned to control my plane. Time and time again I was shot down, time and time again I got up to fight.
I found ways to get around, sneak, go high, fly around the map. I didn't have much of a choice as I could not afford to buy points for the better planes. I played and learned how to get points, pissed off quite a few people in the process.
As I played against these players who's skill was above mine, it forced me to find ways to play with more skill. When I began to play this game, you died or survived.
What I have realized is that I have forgotten that core lesson and like many have become complacent.
