(This is not intended for Zuperman or mods)

I've had some success in getting people to clean up their language with the following messages:
(Usually several consecutive posts to include some of the following)

"Profanity is not welcome here"

"You can be banned or muted for foul language"

"When the moderators see what you have posted they will ban you"

"You cannot erase what you have posted"

"When you get banned or muted check the forum blacklist"

"You can ask to be reinstated but you must promise to clean up your language"



This really does seem to work most of the time. I've had a few apologies and promises to stop.

My go to line that works most of the time (usually after a few warnings) is "guys please respect yourselves and the community by not using foul language here" sometimes i have to put it in the terms of "if you were a parent and saw your kid having to see this kind of language on a game they play, would you let them keep playing it?" More often than not it seems to do the trick

I say something similar.. "Please don't curse because little kids play this game too.. Thanks!"
It works quite often and I usually get a "sorry" in reply..

When it doesn't work I throw out the "You can be muted for cursing here"
Usually all but the hard cases stop then.

Thats great McFate and crew are giving advice on how to help the mods on cleaning up world chat.....I try to come to the aide of you all who are doing ur best on those rare occasions where normal statements dont work.....I start with the "standard lines" that you all have said.....If it still doesnt work or if a pilot needs help in getting the guy to stop then this next line ALWAYS works wonders:

"Please, Stop the Perverted Talking." or "No Vulgar Talking whatsoever, Please".

The next time is no "please"....and I rephrase it in a harsher tone each time until positive results occur.

I also make sure when the offending pilot makes a positive statement to acknowledge it and that all will be well if he/she "refrains from the perverted and vulgar talking"... and if the person in question is nice enough in apology I will even state "_____, I accept you apology. Just dont do it again...okay?"

Joking with the offending pilot or ignoring the offending pilot NEVER works...I have tried it and have sen it tried and it NEVER works....

a harsh but kind word for them to refrain....seems to lead to the best results from my observations.

World chat just needs to go away. It is a black mark on the face of dogfight.

Jeeeez.. is it a full moon or something now? It has been like a contagion the cursing & rascism & anger & rants & raves on World Chat.. perhaps instead of just the few mods zuperman can give all morafs the ability to mute for at least a set amount of time or something? I try to help out by asking then warning players not to curse etc. & take screenshots of some of these worse offenses.. but it has gotten outta hand.

This one has worked every single time I've done it:

"Excuse me __________, you know that email address you signed up with? The one that tells us your IP address?"

I have yet to receive any sort of rebuttal to that one. Usually they disappear from the page without posting anything else.

Just take it away for those who plays on the free version of the game. That would solve a great deal of the problem.
Have you looked at the stats of those who use the bad language?
It's like 9 out of 10 who have less then 100 kills. Many of them have less then 10. They don't play the game, they are just atension seekers.

But I sure won't complain if he removed the world chat for everyone.
We have ingame chat and the forum why do we ned the world chat???
