After much thought, we decided to drop support for some platforms and discontinue some versions of Dogfight. These are:

1) Dogfight (pre-paid) on Android. The only difference with the regular version is that it has no ads. This version was created because some countries do not allow in-app purchases, so they couldn't upgrade the game even if they wanted. But it has created several issues:
- Many people buy pre-paid believing that they will have more airplanes or more stuff in general and then get dissapointed.
- Some get the pre-paid version and when purchasing a new phone they download the free version. They see ads and believe that they have to buy it again without realizing that they are two different programs in the store.
- It is hard to also keep updating both versions at the same time when they are essentially equal.

2) Dogfight for Windows 8. Notice it is Windows 8 and not Windows 8.1. Microsoft fixed many things on Windows 8.1 and some features that are essential to game playing are only available on Windows 8.1. Therefore, since Windows 8.1 is a free upgrade from Microsoft and it adds many improvements, we will drop support from the previous version. You can easily upgrade to Windows 8.1 by going into the Store icon of your Windows 8.0 main screen.

3) Dogfight for Ouya. We were very excited about porting Dogfight for Ouya but the experience has been horrible. Less than 20 people play Dogfight from that system. Ouya is slower than a Samsung Galaxy 2. It is not intuitive neither user friendly. It short. Our Ouya has been in the box for over 3 months and we have spent a considerable amount of resources to port it to that system. What's worse, the few people that use it to play Dogfight mostly complain about the experience. Until Ouya releases a better console or we discover a huge player community on it, we have little options but to drop support on that platform.

Now... is there any platform you would like us adding Dogfight for? We would think about it if the interest is big enough.

Oh, is that why I don't see an update in Google Play for my pre-paid version?
Should I just install the free one and register my existing account?

mr zup, would there be a way to make a console version?I know this Is a huge long shot. But id love to have df for xbox or ps3

If you have Dogfight (pre-paid), just download the free Dogfight. When you log into your multiplayer account it will update everything as if it was pre-paid.

Xbox Live support: Microsoft doesn't allow developers right now to use that. They may allow in the feature but that's outside my control.

Console support: xbox one and ps4 may be a possibility. It all depends on whether we manage to get agreements with them and what's the interest on those platforms.

Zup could port it just it tme for the BB to go into bankruptcy.

I'd like to see it first on ps3 and then later on ps4 since i always lag at least a year on getting new consoles to allow the bugs to be worked out. Id buy the disc version, an extra 60 bucks in your pocket zup , and if you do release on playstation, i think you will have a lot of success particularly from england. The only multiplayer dogfight game on ps3 that i currently play is birds of steel, and their setup is pretty close to what you have here except that they dont have squads or squad tags. Some suggestions though zup, if you do go forward with this, add customizable planes, and you'll need a lot more planes. Dedicated bombers, scout planes and a wide variety of fighters, and headset voice comm support. You do that and i might just buy playstations, headsets and copies of the game for my whole squad hope you expand to the consoles zup!

I admit, this truly is the best game I've played..I'm looking forward to dl it on my new nokia lumia 1520 in a couple months. I also plan to write a review!

Just passed from prepaid version to free version and just log my existing account.

it is indeed the upgrade version with control banners size (that i was still waiting for it as you were for the prepaid version).

No problem, works very fine on android galaxy note II.

I had ported it to blackberry but the market is so small that it had the same problem than ouya.

As for ps3 and xbox 360 the problem was license fees. For those platforms you need to go through a publisher that get a huge chunk of the money and also you need to pay about $40k per released title. It was completely out of the question for us.

This has changed in ps4 and xbox one where they will allow indie developers to publish directly the same way we do for mobile. So it could be possible we do release a version for these.

Darn, I was wondering why the ouya version never seen any updates, I sort of figured this was why. Oh well I can either side load it on my ouya or just play war thunder on my PS4.
