We've discussed camping in general.

I'd like to hear input specifically about camping in bomb the carrier missions.
It's different than in btb because of the tactical advantage of getting into a tank.

I usually do once I've bombed, but I don't feel right about going over to camp after dropping for whatever reason. Not saying it never happens, mind you.

I find it much harder to make a clean getaway in BTC. There's so much flat water and land around the lakes that you can't really duck and cover. I try, but when the tracers start flying past me, I turn and "camp" until I can get away or tank. The current glitch which doesn't allow you to reload on your own carrier encourages folks (me anyway) to camp. If my only options are to go to the blue base or piss folks off by reloading on the red boat, it makes camping more likely. If I go to the blue base, I am more than likely going to leave my boat undefended, not favorable. Red boat reloading seems worse than camping, at least insulting at best. Th problem is that the potential for spawnkilling is much greater for the same reasons that getting away is, no cover.

I guess the general "rule" still applies. Try to get away, if you can. If not continue the mission.
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

I think there always has been a fine line of camping in a BTC because:
  1. You can tank without being forced to re-spawn back at carrier unless you are in the water too too long
  2. Re-loading for another bomb can now be done on enemy carrier or at your own base

I think camping is fine if there are other bombers on the way or if you are being shot at when leaving. I certainly will quick-kill coming in with a bomb to try and shoot you before you have a chance to get a shot off at me. After bombing, I always try to let the enemy get off the carrier and give them a chance to defend though.

I do think it is complete (insert your own word here) if you hang around the carrier the entire time and pick players off before they even get a shot off, especially if they are outnumbered. But I am not going to tell another player how to play.

I say use your own discretion, play as you will, but people have a long memory. Do unto others as you would have done unto you is all I can say. Yes, in real war it would not be this way, but this is not a real war.

See my post on Dropping in a BTC. I use the same rule of thumb in all game modes.

How M4rtin says: "do unto others as you would have done unto you" is a universal rule that I agree 100%.
However, normally if I can, I escape, or otherwise in BTC I do break down to become a tank and bomb again.
if they shoot back, then I defend myself.

See you, folks!

I've always tired not to out stay my welcome after I've bombed their boat, And even though I have always given little if any respect to a camper. Of late I've seen more and more higher ranks 30 & 31's camping. So that being said, This the eve of my own level up to 31 I believe I to will join the ranks of the high level campers, sense ill no longer need the points, being on level 31 I can't be excused of making a grab for points..... Or maybe ill even join the other group of 31's that drop at the end of their own runway just to (COVER THE BOMBERS).... Yes I think very lowly of these actions and the people doing this, knowing what we went though and knowing how much more fun this game would have been without all that. They still choose to do it. So maybe there's something I'm not seeing to all this and should try it out for myself.... I don't know.... We will see..
I could care....But I dont

I call it holding the door open for my teammates. But i wont do it unless there's close to even numbers on both sides. I 've seen another dirty tactic arise with increasing frequency too which is camping at the airbase to kill guys trying to reload on the ground. Thats cheap in my opinion. Happens in df matches too. When i see someone doing it i start hunting them to the detriment of the mission. Dont care who you are. Play clean. If you're that bored, and you're doing it bc you're not gonna get points so it doesn't matter anymore then maybe it's time for you to go find a new game to play. Just sayin.
