You must follow these simple steps Junior Boarder.......Are you 18?

Instructions

1

Read through the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Hopeful Brownie Troop leaders have to be at least 18 years old and accept the Promise and Law, which outlines the behavior of Brownies -- and their leader -- as well as the goals of the organization.

2

Find a Brownie troop in your area on the Girl Scouts website (see Resources). Enter your zip code, or search by state or council name. The website will pull up troops in your area. Visit the troop's website -- many websites include a "Volunteer" page -- or send an email to inquire about volunteering.

3

Submit requested information from the Brownie troop. Download and complete the volunteer application from the Girl Scouts' website. A current leader from the Brownie troop will contact you to collect information about your interest in becoming a troop leader and your experience as well as your application. Agree to a background check, and provide references. Provide this information so that the Brownie troop can make an informed and accurate decision about your leadership abilities.

4

Schedule an interview. If your background and reference check does not raise any concerns, the Brownie troop will want to interview you. Prepare for the interview by researching the Brownie troop and coming up with innovative ideas for the troop. If you have any experience with the Girl Scout organization, stress it in your interview.

5

Receive a letter confirming your appointment as troop leader. The Brownies will send a congratulatory letter usually within 10 days of the interview if they select you as a troop leader.

6

Participate in volunteer orientation. The Girl Scouts offer orientation online, allowing you to learn more about the organization. In this 45-minute orientation, you can learn ways to make the most of your experience as a Brownie troop leader.
