Beer league is also back on. Walked into the dressing room for our last game on Friday night to a super nice surprise. My goalie personally paid for a new set of jerseys and socks for the 16 of us. A truley generous gift. $1700 thereabouts. Thanks Pete. Started playing again 10 years ago. Was unable to get on a team as there were not enough teams to go around in my town. My brother inlaw and a few buddies said to hell with that and started a new league. Went from a humble 6 teams 9 years ago to 18 teams today. Went from being the smallest league, and now have grown into the largest. With that we are now getting the good ice slots. Still got it lol except it sure hurts more the older I get. In 9 years I have fractured a knee cap, knocked out a tooth, received a class 3 seperation of my right shoulder and the stitch count is up to 13. To many deep tissue bruises to count. Give blood play hockey. Lol. Wife thinks I am retarted for doing this twice a week. But like dogfight I am addicted to it as well. Canucks are my team and am looking forwards to regular season getting underway.

Hi hockey fans. I thought with all the things happening on the forum lately that i would relate a humorus hockey moment I had with my wife this morning. No dirty thoughts please!

You see the Blackhawks lost to Pittsburg last night in a shootout during preseason and my wife was irate. The Hawks reaquired Khabibulin as a back up goalie and he was in goal last night. I didnt know the result of the game because i was exhausted after playing DF in the den and fell asleep until the early AM.

So this morning she starts ranting how Khabibulin is a sieve and he couldn't stop a shot from a mighty mite player. She's going on about how the Hawks are going to be in trouble if that guy gets to play.

After this goes on for a couple more minutes, I give her a big hug and kiss,look her square in the eyes and say "You gotta love a woman that loves hockey!"

I couldn't agree more! Mrs.P is a definite hockey chic. I don't watch or read any hockey news. I don't have to. See fills me in on all of it. Watching a game at home? Oooh for the gods' sakes, don't interrupt! Don't walk in feont of the TV! She'll hip check ya into the kitchen!

Watching a game live (and we do 10-12 times a season), she rants and raves, hoots and hollers and raises a general ruckus. Half or more of my enjoyment of watching the game is watching her watch the games.

If it wasnt for her, I'm not sure I would've ever started watching. I love her for it!

The Canes took an OT loss in the season opener. Hoping for better results in today's game.

They showed some spunk and real potential in the second period. The other 2 showed the need for some improvement. Thinking it's gonna be a great season!

Now if I could just figure out the new divisions and conferences. I'm so confused!!!!
