Our beloved Tink can't stay in a game any longer than a hot minute before his phone crashes and kicks him like a one legged man in a but kicking contest.

I have no idea how this could work logistically, but I'm good for a crispy Benjamin and so is Davy Crockett..The Ipad is around $410 + $15 Shipping On Amazon Amazon.com/Apple-MC769

Someone I know has gotten into this but it's ipad1 is almost obseliet.... And it can no longer play......

Think I'll pay $20 if you just hang on to your pants Davy :sick: Well, Big C had a great idea about just buying one there but turns out those loonie Europeans are selling it for $580 so its still cheaper to buy and send from the U-S of A

We are more than half way there but still short of only $255, come on folks chip in or I will make Davy post those photos till you do :whistle:

Well, my humble S2 works like a charm; never - NEVER - crashed, not even once.
But a bigger screen would come in hand... you guys could buy me a phone with a 60" screen... I just realized that that TV doesnt work - except for showing that same landscape, night and day...

I know a guy who works for a company that makes boxes. Could probably get one for you to pack it in. He reckons he might even be able to get it for free! It's used though, but still good quality cardboard. Just a couple of stains. Oh and it smells a bit. Still quality cardboard hard to find!

Awesome, thanks Whip! And thanks Heff for the packaging idea. Mr.anonymous has brought forth a slightly overlooked issue..the American iPads could be different then those wacky European ones in terms of compliance of networks and also for electrical outlets. Those crazy plugs will require an adapter. Add to this, the warranty is only good for the country it was purchased in, I think it might make more sense to just have Tink purchase it from there.

What do you guys think? Can we all just PayPal it to Tink? (assuming all the contributors have Paypal and are ok with it)

Not just Mrs. Head's....the kids around you. The schools, the homes, your friends.

The KINDLE is perfect for this and less expensive. $200..but in quantity it will go down. Pool the $$ and bid on eBay or one of those sites.....get 6 for $500.

TINK' S FINE ! We have each other's back. He appreciates this, yet, it's too discombobulated and flattered to respond.

Thank you all for your ideas and concerns. Bell is extremely humbled by this and is very appreciative. Yes we can get a kindle or other cheaper tablets, but the whole point of this was to offer our international friend an American gesture of generosity, a gift that he could otherwise not afford with all the kids and responsibilities. We are very close to the goal so if there are others who would be interested in doing an act of kindness, this would be the perfect opportunity. If we don't meet the goal in a few days, at least we will get Bell more than three quarters of the way.
