Nice Yakuza. Very nice costumes.

My kids are into cosplay too. Especially my 10 year old. He has been putting together his own assassin's creed costume. It's amazing how much work (and his own money) he puts into it. He just bought a tailcoat and leather vest. He spends time on YouTube looking up how-to videos for some of the various contraptions. We have a small hobby blacksmithing forge in the back yard where he makes many of the weapons himself. Unfortunately many of them are illegal so he has to make the hidden blade replaceable with a plastic or cardboard blade for leaving the house. I posted earlier this year how he was brought home by the police for carrying a realistic flintlock pistol replica in town.

Lately he has been learning how to do leather work. He has been making braces and sheaths and boiling them to harden them into the desired shapes.

If your son is really interested in the "fighting" aspect he may be interested in the SCA. The" society for creative anachronisms." They have chapters world wide. They focus on midevil reinactment. (Kings, knights, broadswords and shields, rapiers, polearms, archery, even some horseback jousting) There is a local group who meet in the neighborhood park. My son can train with them but he won't be allowed to do any live action combat until he turns 16. He'll be ready. The most challenging project will be making his own helmet.

It's crazy how much work some folks put into this but the dedication, details and workmanship are amazing.

Thanks! :cheer:
So which one is your son making?
If i can help sugest let me know?
The Connor Kenway's Costume Cost me about $450 Aust that is including the props, excluding labour. Lots of hours spent on it and to be honest not complet, still missing a few details which i'll fix latter but ready to go.
With the flintlock pistol, I bought 2 table lighter flintlock pistol guns ($60 Each) even showed it to the police for approval.
I'm not a blacksmith but i did buy a replica steel sword.
Yeah! I know what u mean, real steel looks and feels awesome( like the sword on Altiar, the first pics )
Couldn't take that one out on the streets so I've opted for latex weapons or cardboard.( Ubi weapons, hidden blade, axe )
I take my son once a year to a Medieval fair in Brisbane Australia, there they have all sorts of compatitions and a blacksmith is there also.
O'God teaching him martial arts is already a headache!
When your son makes that helmet please post it up i'ld love ta have a look at it :)
Also i'ld love ta keep in touch with your son costume :)
