I have had sooo many games ruined today by windows users, I know its not there fault and they've paid money to be here but so have many of us who are becoming 'victims' of their lag

If this takes off as soon as they have an update that fixes this i will request its removal

One interesting "feature" of Windows8 seems to be that Windows players see enemy planes a LOT sooner than Android and iOS. All of the blues take off from the home airport, and Windows players are firing at planes a full minute before I can see ANYTHING. Sure, some of the sniveling little brats are shooting at blues. But I've asked some others, and they see reds. Then Bang, the reds appear on my screen.

Does any one care about fixing the invisible windows 8 thing? Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

For the record... I will no longer stay in a game with these turkeys. I don't care who's there with me. Nearly broke my iPad in half this morning in a BTC game with 2 of them flying around in red. Both of them rank 9 or 10 and smearing me all over the place. I never saw them. Had Tony(BE) and BunnyBunny in red too and they couldn't even get a kill on me for all the phantom deaths I was racking up!

I was a bit belligerent with them, but really it's not their fault. I apologize for the mean nasty comments I made. I just refuse to take a beating when those dishing it out really shouldn't be. I feel sorry for the little bastards... Oh sorry there I go again... I mean these guys finally get an real update. They're gonna get creamed and not understand why it's happening. You're gonna get a lot less kills when the enemy can actually see you in real time.

So here's my explanation and apology for bailing... Cause I definitely will as soon as I see a W8er.

Haven't played religiously for months now so playing the odd game here and there i didnt encounter any but in the last couple of days i have seen so many and have been shot out the sky for no apparent reason a good few times until i twigged they were windows phantoms.
Im assuming that with windows being a fairly new platform that alot of these game wreckers have got to the point where they are joining the second tier servers.
Only one i remember fully was Dvb.nice enough guy mind,not his fault Zup has brought in the Guinea pigs.

I was in a really great game yesterday, if memory serves the numbers were against me and one other player but I was playing well and we were fending off the reds. The game was going on for a while, and it wasn't clear which way the tide would turn, but it wasn't stagnated at all -- in fact it was very dynamic, at least from my perspective.

Then xiaoyu entered our side. He immediately racked up a ghost kill, and I just flat out told him to leave. We're all finally enjoying a game that isn't 8-on-no-one or whacked out with carriers, zepps, and dogfight reds. We did NOT need a bloody windows8 player screwing up the game for us.

Yeah a bit mean of me. Certainly not befitting of moderator behavior, as Zup would sometimes chastise me. Oh wait, I'm NOT a mod and don't have to live up to that standard. I am just a player, Just Manfred. The game sucks when windows8 players are ghosting, pure and simple. If I enter a game and there's already a known ghoster there, I likely will leave. If one enters a good game that I've invested heavily in, I may chase him off.

"ac9" is another ghosting windows8 player. I was just on his team in a BTB. When the red players started complaining, I stated that I don't play with windows8 players and left.

I played several games with Silversh last night. He was red in all of them. I didn't get any ghost kills from him, but I did find his lack of any evasive maneuvers odd. This probably explains it. I also noticed he was 1 and 20+ in one game. Maybe the W8 lag was working against him last night.

More Windows8 ghosters. Their play is ruining good games. I got nailed by aratata at my carrier several times in BTC, and it turns out that he was over by the enemy carrier!

Not their fault, but some take advantage of the invisibility and random teleporting. I will not play with these folks.

gerch-windows phantom. Just left a game he was in. Was a good game till he showed up. I wont play with them any more.

In a game a day or so ago, BTC, with a phantom. Can't remember the name now, but developed a strategy that seems to work pretty well.

I've noticed the phantom kills come in groups of 2-4. I assume they see us when we're not there load us up with shots and when they finally catch up you die at respawn over and over. Sometimes they're as much as 30 seconds apart. Anyway, I got shot down half way across the map with nobody else on the radar. I immediately hit retry and the brakes. A few seconds later.... Tink tink tink. Phantom hits were reregistering, but the brakes saved me. I waited probably a full minute before the tinks stopped. Then took off and made back to the W8er and pinned him down until he left.

Of course, this doesn't help much if you're being swarmed by reds at the respawn point, but in this game it was pretty satisfying.

Ok Guy and others. I'll give you a pass if one of my team is a windows 8 user, but after you kill them 2 or 3 times you need to tell them again why and what your doing. ESPECIALLY if they are a lower rank.... They don't always know are understand what or why their being bullied by both teams. This may be their only device and they paid good money for it same as we did. So they should be able to play the game... If we want to control this we need to find a way that works. Such as.... If they will hold their fire till fired at then they know we can see them, and if they can't see us then sound off so we can find ways to accommodate them as well... Till Zup finds a fix we need to be fair. It could be one of us....

This is great idea. As Win8 user I'm all for it. Thing is since the .40 update, I can't log it, because this update has caused the "y" on the keyboard to be dead... I asked zip for help, but no joy so far...

it's a problem with unity and windows 8, not really my fault... i have to wait for them to fix it.

Thanks, zup never saw a reply. It works with the uppercase Y, didn't try because I thought it was case sensitive. Logged in and tried to play. Its hopeless. Can't fly the plane past the landing strip; won't turn left at all. Tried changing the sensitivity a few times but it made no difference.

you mean using movement controller? the joystick? the touch screen? moving the device?

sorry, the last one: moving the device. Using a Win8 tablet (full version not Win 8 RT) Graphics/view turned to "simple". It also nosedives as well, very hard to get off the ground, and once up it doesn't stay that way long.

Forgot about the "on screen" joystick (not my preferred method) but I'll try to remember to try it tonight and report back, if that helps

Got home and the .41 update was waiting for Win 8 pc. It still flies the same. Horrible with motion control. Tried the on screen joystick, and it's better, but I'm rubbish with it. Too easy to shoot down.

Also, the last two updates .40 & .41 came as the free version. I'm sure I paid for this app the first time?

Hope you can sort this soon. I do miss playing this game.

Hi! I am new here as I joined just a few days ago & although I love this game already I am tired of getting my head handed to me in a basket because I am using a new laptop that came with Windows 8.. I read virtually every post on here about Win8 users & understand the problems in the past that were experienced by players on both ends. Yet I seem to be a slow flying turkey up there in the sky, and even have had other players ask me if I am using Win8.. I would love to be able to fly on par with other users as far as maneuvering controls, etc. I understand that being a new player in noob planes I won't have the speed or experience to take on established pros here, but that's okay.. there is a learning curve & I am sure in time I will gain the experience & tactics to be a better player.. but NOT if I am just a flying target! Any help or advice (besides to get a smartphone/tablet) would be greatly appreciated.. evidently just using my keyboard controls isn't cutting it as far as maneuvering is concerned.. so do I need a joystick? My new computer is very fast.. and my 'net speed doesn't totally suck.. so any advice will be greatly appreciated & I am looking forward to being a member of this unique community. Thank You in advance!

Hello Zebra.

If I we're trying to play on PC I'd probably try a joystick. The reaction time of motion control on pads/phones is going to be hard to beat.

What's your ingame name may be if I see you in a game I can give you some practice and just let you chase me. Apple ipad is what I'm playing on.

Thanks for the reply & advice Blue Max.. My game name is the same as my forum name. But I think I will wait until later after I get a joystick to play again. It's disheartening to have been killed so many times in a row despite what I thought were half-decent skills.. and I won't even mention how many times I was spawn killed in a row during a dogfight free for all session. It seemed some guys were hungry for kills and I was the main course for a couple of players that game LOL!

You will figure out which ones enjoy spawnkilling after a while. Don't let it drive you away. There are more good than bad here.

On another note... I had xiaoyu join in a game last nite and he was completely behaved with no ghosting. As he joined he chatted, "hey. New update no phantom no need to fear me". Taking in to consideration that English does not seem to be his native language, I took it to mean he knew his ghosting as a pain and he's just as glad its fixed as we are. Weeks ago, I couldn't wait for the fix so I could pound him. The anger and frustration has subsided and I'm willing to give him a chance and a fair shot. He's going to have to adjust too. I imagine after weeks of shooting people that could see you, it's going to be tough to fight them in the real time. That's enough of a remittance for me.

Got 4.4.42 on my Windows Phone 8 (what a piece of crap this HTC X8 is) and gave it a try. For the first time since 4.4.37 I was able to play on it without worrying I might be phantom killing! It ran smooth, no crashes, and all kills were clean. Will I stop stealing my wife's Google Nexus 7 now? Not a chance babe! But it's nice to know I can finally use my own device now without offending anyone or having a dirty advantage. Especially after paying for $12 worth of upgrades on two platforms (well if nobody pays for stuff how can Echoboom make enough $$$ to keep moving forward?)
Joaquin.....don't change anything.......pleeeeeeeeeeeeze? After the world chat/apple not working/spawning on wrong carrier/bombs having no affect problem is resolved of course.
