How many times have you been shot down by the phantom bullets?

As usual I thought it was due to lag, however the puzzle pieces are begining to come together and the picture appears to be the advantage of players using Windows 8 on pc.

Observation in game with users of pc version against device users over many games and my theory is the following.

While playing against users of the windows 8 pc verzion I have found them to be the phantoms we call lag, deduction they have an advantage using a pc over a device. Thoughts please.

Its not just the pcs, its windows 8 all togather. 5 times tonight I was shot down with no one around. And the one who shot me down was at his base.

I have used windows 8 on a PC and/ or a HTC One X android and get the same game lag . it's very possible that Windows 8 players have a faster speed so they end up becoming a phantom but so does other players I have seen several times someone just disappear windows 8 players or not I think some of it is just due to lag . and Ghost you diapered twice on me during the game and I was on my HTC and got shoot before i took off from the runway by a couple players with no one around . I think it's both Windows 8 and some of the other devices with the updates on them.. Lagging with to many people not enough severer space does the trick too

Lol i know you said i disappered a few times. Its not lag on my part. I gaining my ghosty abilities back that i lost. please dont take it personally. It could be lag in all devices. But you got me 4 different times in a row from respawning to being 30000 ft in the air. and you we no where to be seen. And again once after you left the game.

Just an observation over a period of time based on actjon in game and reaction with windows players.

Interesting .... Yea I was 30,000 ft or so up and got u and a couple others . then you guys figured that one out. I have been killed by someone after they have died or left the game it's weird.... I don't take anything personal it's just a lagging game...

Oh no, please dont! To meny Ghost in this game as it is. Lmao Lets see, Me, Mrs.Ghost (the wife), Ghost Jr, Ghostrider, the ghost, and ghost! If there were any more ghost every one may thing this game is haunted.

Yes it's all windows 8. I've had 3 diff guys on windows 8, all phones and all phantoms. This sucks !!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope they fix it soon. Right now these guys are new and have not gained a solid skill set in the game. When they do this game will blow goats. Your 5 phantom kills you get will become 50. Your hangers will spontainiously combust. You won't get off the ground. Imagine if I were a phantom in a game. Bad news right?

Has any one emailed zuperman? Not on the forum much and hasn't said anything about the issue.

I can only speak for myself Max, I plan to send an email when I get home and can get on my pc. These are just my observations and reasonable conclusion based on those I've chatted with using windows 8. I hope this can be fixed as well.

Even though I use Windows 8 sometimes I hate the lag and the diffrence between android and Windows 8 . Hopefully the get a fix soon because. It's a lot better playing on my android phone than Windows 8 due to lag and I can't play tank mode on Windows 8 won't work . Besides just like everyone else I hate getting shoot down by a ghost ....

Sorry Zup but I just came out of a game with 10 phantom deaths. I love your game but I'm not playing it any more until this is fixed. I am an apple user not windows 8. This is ruining the game. There is one phantom player in every game now. Taking the fun out of playing when you work for a bomb run and get shot by a ghost before you deliver. Then get shot at your base over and over by a guy at his own base????????????????????????????????????????????????????? 10 times. Ridiculous.

I agree this is terrible and if this isn't fixed soon I won't play either. Combine these phantoms with the way the game mismanages teams and the lag that stops your bullets from working I don't care how good you are you will lose. I just played games where I am 1 vs 6 and I don't care I'll try but after your bullets don't work and you keep getting shot down by no one it's pretty hard to want to fight. Please fix this!!! Let the Windows 8 ppl be on their own so we can have a 'normal' game...

I just looked didn't see any new update for Windows 8 version . So either I'am running the latest version or Windows 8 is not making the new update available. Same issues going on ... No Take controls , Just start flying in a tank if i go to tank mode and Windows 8 players are still a Phantom but not always just when the server is close to being full or a lot of players are online goes in and out

Im used to seeing people dissapear for five seconds. But I never once saw this guy in ten minutes and all other players were lag free.

Oh yeahhh, vivekvivekk23 was invisible in my game too (he was blue), killed Red Barroness (she was red) from clear across the map. He was actually visible, but on my side of the map.

DUDE,,YOU KNOW THE REMEDY,,INDUCED LAG..I WAS IN A GAME WHERE THEY WERE COMPLAINING THAT THE NIGERIAN WAS INVISIBLE..I HAD NO PROB CAPPING HIM,I COULD SEE HIM, HE WAS LAGGING LIKE ME OR ON 8...EITHER WAY HE WAS OWNED.

Killing them isn't the problem. They can be killed. You just have to find where they are flying around in circles shooting at nothing. They die just fine. It's the getting shot randomly when they are all the way across the map about 10 times that I'm not with any more. Blown out. The last game I play till its fixed. I had 30 deaths in that game 10 being phantoms. Thats 1/3 of my deaths. Two bomb runs totally junked right at hangers. Lopsided game and on defense after that getting plugged off the run way. Nope no mas.

Yes I am running Windows 8 with the dogfight version 4.4.33
And I've seen other player become phantoms while I am playing them or sometimes I will be the phantom to them.
I am sure It's due to Windows 8 either way because there only hid to Windows 8 players or Windows 8 players are hid to everyone else.
I don't have the same issue when playing on my android HTC One ..... The tank mode is now working better on Windows 8 version of the game

Ok I figured it out. Here's what's happening: There is a 2-3 minute lag between windows users and everyone else so what happens is initially the phantoms complain "everyone is invisible" That's because they don't see us for 2-3 minutes. This is where they are most vulnerable and easy prey. However, after the initial 2 minutes have elapsed, they start seeing what we did 2 minutes ago--they are actually seeing our past! This is when they appear to be shooting randomly in the air but in fact, they are shooting your ghost and the server registers the phantom kill. This is also where they are the most vulnerable because they never actually see the present "you" so when they are shooting in the air, they are easy pickings.

I found this out after testing it with two random phantoms. I flew very high and dropped fast directly in the path of a phantom. After about 2 minutes, he typed "he is high".

It all makes perfect sense now. Windows does not sync up in real time with other platforms.

Can one of the mods please move this thread to Support?

- On various parts of the map, you suddenly get killed by him. He says he sees you. I certainly don't see him when that happens.
- Then I can see him. He's flying pretty straight, not data loss, since he's maneuvering a little. I kill him. He says he never saw me.

Game is becoming unplayable with these problems, but just because of Win 8 users, but for Win 8 users as well.

I was in the same game as Manfred and Slim Ngaipa and he went in and out bad. Till I lost power and my connection.
sometimes everyone else disper to Win 8 user also and it's not always the past you we see just when the server gets full and then some players disaper to Win 8 users but not everyone and you can see the present position for most players sometimes until the server gets close to full

I guess I've lost my manners. With all the poor game quality lately I missed welcoming you to DF. We know it isn't your fault the windows 8 is bad. Just aggravating until it gets fixed.

Welcome to dogfight game and forum. I hope soon the performance is improved for us all. Again welcome. Sorry it took me so long. Usually a friendlier place to new faces. Thanks for the input here also.

Okay, this makes things a whole lot clearer to me.

I am repeatedly Phantom killed by Ben Akum whenever I oppose him in a game. The last time we met he got me 5 times. It just so happens I was making an effort to keep tabs on him that game. He rarely engaged anybody, and spent most of his time over the lake leisurely looping around, firing his guns.

He P-killed others in the game and when called on it he turned the tables and claimed that our kills on him were P-Kills as well. He got abusive when I called him on that.

He obviously knows exactly what's happening.
